Grace Science, LLC is a privately held company focused on a rare disease, NGLY1 Deficiency, and common diseases that share related biology. By assembling a world-class, multidisciplinary team of experts and encouraging them to share expertise and knowledge, Grace Science is developing biological insights into how the loss of NGLY1 leads to disease and how NGLY1 plays a role in cancer and other neurological diseases. Grace Science is developing strategies to replace NGLY1 activity and leveraging knowledge of NGLY1’s biology to develop therapies for common and rare diseases.

Grace Science is seeking a full-time Scientist for assay development across multiple programs. This is a hands-on bench scientist position that involves proof of concept testing and development of novel methods, experiments, and technologies to drive therapeutic programs. This team member will contribute experience and knowledge to the design, execution, analysis, and interpretation of various studies. The position requires continuous innovation, creativity, and adaptability in pursuit of company goals.   • Design and develop assays for experiments using cell culture, biochemical, and molecular biology techniques

  • Communication and presentation of results to team members, including management

  • Recording of reagents, experiments, protocols, and results in written and electronic laboratory notebooks

  • Inventory management


  • M.S. or B.S. in biology or related field and 5+ years of related industry laboratory experience


  • Ph.D. in biology or related field and 2+ years of industry experience

    NOTE: This is a non-entry level position

Previous industry laboratory research experience in the following areas is required:

  • biochemical assay design, development, and implementation
  • plate-based assays using fluorescence and/or luminescence and related analysis
  • primer design, PCR/qRT-PCR experimental design and related analysis
  • Western blot, immunoprecipitation, ELISA assay development and related analysis
  • mammalian tissue culture, handling, and troubleshooting of multiple laboratory and some primary cell lines
  • use of cell lines, animal tissue, and viral vectors in a Biosafety level 2 setting

Experience is preferred in the following areas:

  • Fluorescence microscopy and immunocytochemistry

  • Flow cytometry

  • Neuronal cell culture

  • Experience in assay qualification and/or validation

  • Experience in QA or CMC workflows

  • Protein expression and purification
