Description:

The Cross Platform Architect is responsible for the overall technical application architecture in the Marketing Technology Services organization supporting AbbVie's US Commercial business. This position is the point person for all application architecture solutions and decisions across multiple digital platforms such as Adobe, Sitecore, Marketo, PEGA, Apigee, Mulesoft etc. The Cross-Platform Architect will be responsible for focusing on both strategic technology programs as well as ongoing projects that cross multiple digital platform boundaries. Working with subject matter experts from different teams and functions as well as business units, this individual will be responsible to deliver a set of business capabilities supporting the US commercial business areas. She or he will require a deep understanding of the marketing technology landscape as well as business capabilities required by different AbbVie stakeholders.

The individual will work closely with business and technology leads including product owners, marketing managers, technical leads, analysts, architects, project managers, user experience leads as well as external agencies and partners. The individual will operate as a technology application architecture subject matter expert / technical advisor and will be the point person for all technical and functional capabilities of the marketing technology platform ecosystem. He/she will report directly to the Head of Marketing Technology Services in the Brand BTS Organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Application Architecture Owner: Cross platform architecture ownership of the technology architecture strategy, implementation aspects, architecture roadmap, features roadmap, and architectural design to support the various marketing technology platforms. He/she will stay current with latest technology trends and be responsible to perform technical research, lead proof of concepts, pilots etc. when necessary to recommend the use of new application capabilities, balancing innovation, business benefits and IT standards and best practices. May mentor/supervise a team of one or more and guide and evaluate the performance of those individuals; is accountable for the effective performance of the team/individuals.
  • Technical Leadership: Lead the technical application architecture oversight of development teams and collaborate with various shared-services teams to build and enhance the technical platform to deliver on business outcomes. Support technical development and IT Operations activities to enable high-quality and on-time delivery of technology deliverables. Drive the technical evaluation of technologies and vendor solutions including industry trends and best practices.
  • Business Liaison: The role will liaison with the IT leads, managers, business relationship managers and other business stakeholders to understand business strategies, prioritize business needs and manage expectations around application technology architecture and delivery activities. Including communicating and educating other teams around the technology capabilities of the solution.
  • Architecture Roadmap: Oversees application architecture roadmap and collaborates with other architects to research and recommend new technology, implement POCs, and pilots.
  • Compliance: Responsible for compliance and applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and Procedures. Ensure all development deliverables and processes adhere to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree with 8 years experience; Master's Degree with 7 years experience; PhD with 3 years of experience in application program development. Work experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
  • Technical background in marketing technology platforms with prior hands-on development and technical application experience.
  • Technical experience architecting, implementing, and supporting MarTech platforms solutions and integrations such as Adobe Experience Manager, Sitecore, Marketing automation platforms such as Marketo, Adobe Campaign, SFMC, the Adobe Experience Manager platform for Content Management, the Adobe Target platform for Personalization, and micro-services integration architectures.
  • Knowledge of the data and analytics platforms including Customer Data Platform (CDP), Data Management Platform (DMP) such as AAM, Personalization platforms such as Adobe Target, and microservices integration architectures etc.
  • Experience in designing solution architectures across cloud platforms, enterprise systems and toolsets in support of marketing and sales processes.
  • Exceptional communication skills, ability to state things simply, ask effective questions and communicate persuasively across different audiences ranging from leadership to end user levels.
