Job Summary:
The Manager, GPM&L is expected to contribute to the drug development process by providing project & portfolio level support to the Global Project Management & Leadership (GPM&L) department within Daiichi Sankyo Pharma Development. This position will be integral to ensuring the smooth operation of the R&D global project management function and working with project managers in organizing and reporting project and portfolio level activities.
The Manager, GPML will bridge PPM business requirements into technical specifications and will have frequent, in-depth interactions with PPM platform service providers on implementation and continuous improvement efforts, developing, customizing and maintaining PPM analytical reports, generating visuals by extracting the full value of PPM systems and applications (e.g., Time Reporting, Planisware, and other analytical platforms.) to facilitate the effective tracking, modeling, forecasting and analysis of portfolio resources and other insights. Proactively plan the resources required to support portfolio priorities and identify risks at portfolio level. Align with Finance, IT and other functional areas as appropriate. She or He will become a subject matter expert in use of the PPM tools, support training of Project Managers and develop training materials.
The successful candidate has a solid understanding of the drug development process and is skilled in the use of Project Management tools such as Planisware, MS Project, etc. Experience working on cross functional teams is desired as well as an understanding of facilitating high functioning teams. She or he will be partnered with other Portfolio Manager/ Project Manager on assigned deliverables.
As a member of the GMP&L function this position may also support divisional and departmental level objectives and may be assigned to a non-project initiative in support of these objectives. The Manager, GPM&L must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable interacting with many different functional groups and leaders.
Responsibilities:
Translates complex portfolio data and analytics into consumable information for stakeholders by creating storylines in the context of the business.
Conducts data analysis to generate concise visual outputs utilizing project management and data analytics software.
Develop a good understanding of the integrated project budget and resource requirements for assigned development programs and updating the project management software.
Assist with training Project Managers on the use of project management tools, managing project schedules and updating the project management software.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree: Emphasis preferred in science or engineering, Information Technology, or other analytics-related disciplines required
Master's Degree preferred
4 or more years relevant business operation, portfolio or resource management, including 3+ year data-centric responsibilities in pharmaceutical or relevant industry
Prior experience in management consulting in pharma/Biotech and/or enterprise application implementation preferred
