Senior Research Associate

Overview

We are currently searching for a Senior Research Associate to provide support to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This opportunity is a full-time position with MSC, and it is on-site in Bethesda, MD.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Culture of human and mouse cell lines in various conditions, including protocol optimization.
• Participates in animal model (mouse) studies (PCR-based mice genotyping).
• Perform basic cloning experiments and routine in-vitro assays (RNA, DNA isolation, Western, PCR, qRT-PCR, co-IP, Immunostaining)
• Carries out laboratory administration and maintenance procedures and requirements; participates in various administrative duties under the supervision of the head of the laboratory.
• Maintains accurate records; tabulates and organizes data.
• Orders supplies and reagents and maintains equipment and stock solutions.
• Maintains chemical inventory for the laboratory.
• Sees that equipment is in good working order.
• Performs other duties as assigned. #LI-AA1

Requirements

• Ph.D. degree Biology or a related discipline with at least 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with cell culture and cell-based assays required.
• Attention to detail and careful record-keeping
• Critical thinking and independence, ability to troubleshoot, solve difficult problems, and develop process and/or assay improvements.
