Description

The Manager, Legal FP&A is responsible for the financial reporting, planning and analysis for various Legal Functional areas. This role supports the legal function which has global expenses of $400MM+ and 300 headcount and includes approximately $300MM in legal fees. This role also has oversight of the Legal Accounts Payable function and works closely with Legal Operations to ensure processes are optimized.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Responsible for completion of all planning cycles: Plan, LRP and LBE's that reflect meaningful commentary and analysis and responsible for executive summaries and presentations to multiple VPs


  • Responsible for ensuring monthly financial results are completed accurately and timely and executive summaries with insightful commentary are prepared and delivered to the various VPs supported


  • Support financial aspects of key functional projects, systems initiatives and integration activities to ensure finance requirements are implemented appropriately and process efficiencies are realized


  • Provides decision support and financial counsel for functional VP's delivering on spend management, acquisition synergies and other business initiatives


  • Responsible for the Legal invoice payment processes and ensuring invoices are paid timely and appropriately, developing key KPIs to monitor aging and timing of payments are appropriate


  • Partners with the Legal Operations function to optimize processes for the appropriate payment of all legal invoices and provide meaningful reporting for the function


  • Manage 1 Financial Analyst and 1 Sr. Accounting Technician


  • Maintain controls to assure the integrity of assets and compliance with GAAP and corporate financial policies and procedures

Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA or MBA desirable
  • Minimum 7+ years progressive accounting or finance experience
  • Strong financial, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter with ability to operate independently, identify and implement process improvements, establish and adjust priorities to achieve objectives and operate with speed and agility
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to confidently support multiple VPs within function and to influence others that do not report directly
