Has the primary accountability for developing and leading the implementation of the integrated Product Strategy for lead asset / indications and to own the commercial tactical plan for implementation across geographies.

As a core member of the Global Brand Team, the Global Brand Team Lead, for led asset / indication:
  • Provides overarching leadership and direction for global marketing strategy
  • Develops marketing vision, strategies and plans, co-creating with key Global, Area and Affiliates stakeholders

The Global Brand Lead owns both present and future commercial performance of led asset / indications, collaborating closely with key counterparts, including Global Commercial Development, Global Medical Affairs and Global Pricing and Access. Reporting to the GMCO General Manager for Hematology, is the most senior commercial role focused on success of led asset / indications.

Leadership:
  • Provides positive leadership and productive influence across the organization. S ets the tone and priorities for CLL.
  • Influences and persuades across multiple external and internal constituents (stakeholders and partners). Leads and develops direct, indirect and cross-business partners.
  • Infuses AbbVie Ways of Working and Talent Philosophy in day-to-day leadership and management of the business.
  • Leads and manages direct teams and external partnerships to execute key marketing initiatives
  • Demonstrates strong cross functional and cross geographical influence and leadership without authority capability; Works effectively with other leaders on the Venetoclax team
  • Builds strong relationships with peers and cross functionally with partners outside of team to enable higher performance
  • Learns, fast, grasps the 'essence' and can change the course quickly where indicated
  • Raises the bar and is never satisfied with the status quo
  • Creates a learning environment, open to suggestions and experimentation for improvement

Product knowledge and Market Awareness:
  • Has command of the product and competitive landscape.
  • Has oncology launch experience
  • Provides needed commercial perspective on key marketing decisions such as optimal positioning and messaging to differentiate in the marketplace.
  • Translates the science into marketing initiatives which change the lives of patients.
  • Maintains focus on and consistently triangulates market dynamics, constituents' needs, and business priorities to determine best, market-advantaged course of action.

Action and Accountability:
  • Determines appropriate actions, executions, tracking and monitoring of Marketing Plans
  • Drives key initiatives ideation to implementation at the country level.
  • Executes Launch Readiness Reviews by employing leadership and marketing skills. Exhibits P&L mindset and manages own budget effectively.

Strategic Impact:
  • Must have positive attitude, strong written and interpersonal skills, as well as excellent planning and organization skills to support brand objectives
  • Formulates and adjusts business plans and actions to achieve business objectives and goals, including financial, constituents and market results.
  • Takes and recommends appropriate strategic decisions and actions for the best interest of AbbVie, franchise and brand at the varying life cycle stages.
  • Effectively orchestrate work across internal teams and external partners.
  • Exhibits strong presence with executive leadership.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Demonstrate high proficiency of the whole and the component parts of the Marketing skills framework: Insights, Segmentation, Positioning, Value Proposition, Business Model Innovation, Creative Development, and Investment Optimization.
  • Cross-functional and/or similar experiences including field sales, finance, regulatory, research & development and other relevant business functions, like Managed Care and MABI.
