What you will do

Let's do this. Let's change the world. In this vital role you will report to the Global Reporting CoE Director and will be one of the standard reporting leads for the global organization. Critical functional areas of this role include partnering with regional leads, global executives and global brand teams to understand requirements, identifying key business questions, rationalizing current tools, crafting UI and functionality, analyzing and recommending applicable data sources and acting as a liaison between several US and Global commercial and technical teams (cDNA, DHI, Sales and Marketing, RAV, among others) to ensure the right operationalization of standard reporting tools across all regions. The main responsibilities include: 1) Change Management 2) App Operations, Maintenance and Evolution 3) Cross-functional collaboration 4) Training and Communication.

Change Management
  • Design and implement a change management strategy to modify how regions, executives, brand, and field teams interact with data by showing the added value of the analytic applications
  • Proactive engagement with regional and global leads, executives, brand teams, and field sales teams to ensure organizational alignment as to how standard reporting tools supports Amgen's strategy and dedication to ongoing metrics
  • Execute metrics tracking at regular intervals, to monitor adoption and to assess impact
  • Organizational engagement, participation of team in company events/departmental meetings to promote awareness of project

App Operations, Maintenance, and Evolution
  • Partners with regional and global teams, business teams, internal partners, and end users to continuously track strategy to guide the evolution of standard reporting products
  • Planning, prioritizing, and phasing demand/requests based on criticality, impact, budget, feasibility, actionability, and potential business value
  • Prioritizing backlog, by weighing impact and feasibility of each feature. Assessing business value, participating in vision setting, planning, and problem-solving and ultimately approving and defending the prioritization of incremental product improvement
  • Define, implement, and document business rules.
  • Works with MAC as needed for User Interface (UI) changes and approvals
  • Lead aspects of Issue Management process and tracking

Cross-functional Collaboration
  • In charge of overall cross system integration, connecting team with collaborators and SMEs as needed (e.g., regions, IC, IS, Veeva/Compass)
  • Establishing and maintaining champion network engagements
  • Aligning prioritization across regions and functions, facilitating the conversations to get all cross-functional teams/regions/departments aligned to the same goal
  • Provides advice to team in terms of navigating conflict and potentially heavy conversations

Training and Communication
  • Lead training sessions, including training on updates to reporting tools
  • Owns development of training materials as needed
  • Development of pertinent communications supporting standard reporting tools including but not limited to executive update, SM Comms, FAQ documents, business rule documentation, etc.

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 2 years of reporting or analytics experience
Or

Master's degree and 4 years of reporting or analytics experience
Or

Bachelor's degree and 6 years of reporting or analytics experience
Or

Associate's degree and 10 years of reporting or analytics experience
Or

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of reporting or analytics experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong client service and communication skills - written, oral, and presentation - appropriately gauged to abroad range of audiences from senior leadership to front-line field staff and to peers in various subject areas.
  • Strong project management skills, with demonstrated success influencing clients, customers, and team members
  • Cross-functional experience in Sales Operations functions, including Reporting, Analytics, Incentive Compensation, Territory design, Sales force structure, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into innovative solutions
  • Experience with regional, brand, sales and activity reporting, incentive compensation, Plan of Action, field systems solutions such as Veeva (salesforce.com), and Reporting Solutions such as Tableau, Domo, Spotfire, PowerBI, etc.
  • Deep knowledge of Pharmaceutical data across the globe including IMS DDD, Xponent data, Plan Track, Managed Markets and charge back data
  • Ability to adjust to changing needs within the organization and to change priorities
