Sana is seeking an exceptional leader to join our dynamic and growing team to help establish our supply chain organization. As Sana continues to scale and our operations increase in complexity, it is critical we centralize and establish our supply chain capabilities across all lab-based functions, including both GMP and non-GMP materials. The senior director of supply chain will be Sana's first dedicated supply chain professional. The scope of the role will include establishing our materials management strategy in support of Sana's entire pipeline. The individual will be accountable to build out our supply chain capabilities and infrastructure with a focus on materials management, including both GMP and non-GMP, from starting materials to intermediates.

  • Establish the vision and create a long-term road map for materials management at Sana.
  • Provide leadership to develop Sana's materials management supply chain strategy, including both the "what" and the "how" (people, processes, etc.)
  • Build and lead a world class materials management team that will execute on the defined supply chain strategy
  • Lead activities related to strategic purchasing, material requirements planning, inventory control, warehousing, and distribution of materials and products
  • Partner with our R&D and Technical Operations teams to plan demand and supply of all critical raw materials
  • Create tools and processes for materials management including bills of materials (BOM) as well as raw material forecasting; manage centralized forecasting of materials across Sana, including GMP BOMs.
  • Identify key material risks for all of Sana's programs and implement mitigation activities
  • Develop and implement vendor management programs focused on priority vendors and materials including risk assessments, governance and forecasting
  • Implement strategic sourcing structure to support non-GMP and GMP sourcing needs including evaluating new supply partners as well as negotiating and execute vendor agreements
  • Build strong collaborations across functions within Sana including research, technical sciences, process & analytical development, manufacturing, procurement, lab operations, and finance to optimize material management incorporating scientific, operational and financial considerations
  • Create internal material review governance process to facilitate the adjudication of GMP material changes
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing team of supply chain professionals with a vision of setting industry-leading standards

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in industrial engineering, supply chain, operations or related field with minimum of 12+ years of pharmaceutical or biotech experience in supply chain management and planning
  • Must have strong analytical skills and be able to concisely summarize information. Prepare presentation and communications appropriate to the audience
  • Must be detailed oriented and have strong interpersonal & communication skills
  • Ability to influence others and work independently and in a team environment
  • The candidate should be a team player and be able to collaborate and influence in a matrixed org with 3 locations
  • Ability to effectively plan, prioritize, execute, follow up, and anticipate challenges
  • Experience managing complex schedules and priorities in dynamic environments
  • Ability to work, influence, and gain consensus across multiple functions (R&D, PD, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Quality, and Clinical)
  • Must be highly organized and have the ability to manage multiple initiatives with many stakeholders
