Product Manager Pharmaceutical Biologics

Employer
Lucideon
Location
Raleigh, NC
Salary
Competitive salary
Start date
Feb 9, 2021

Lab-tested technical expertise meets global commercial ambition. And an opportunity to get in at the start of an exciting new venture for Lucideon.

It’s our incredible innovation and commitment to service that attracts the globe’s biggest clients – as Product Manager for our new Biologics operations, you’ll be harnessing that same spirit and helping us take it to a new market. We have exciting plans for the biologics industry, so if you’re ready to take on the world, this is your big chance.

What will you find when you get here?

You might not have heard of us but, behind the scenes, it’s our expertise in materials technology and molecular-level testing that keeps planes in the air and rockets flying into space. When many of the world’s highest profile manufacturers encounter a problem with a certain aspect of their product that just isn’t up to the job, it’s us they come to for a solution.

And now we’re bringing our expertise to biologics. It’s a new frontier for us, but when you’re pushing the boundaries of the possible on a daily basis, that’s business as usual. It also helps that we have experience going back years in pharmaceuticals. But where we’ve previously worked with small molecule drugs, the Biologics side is all new. And because it’s new, there’s the opportunity to really make this role your own.

What’s the day to day like in a role like this?

The future’s wide open in terms of the commercial goals you’ll shoot for. But one thing’s for certain – you’ll definitely have the know-how to help create our market strategy. Plus, you’ll know how to get new clients’ attention. Not just because monoclonal antibodies are all over the news at the moment, but because they want to hear from someone with your level of expertise – you’ll be the person who can give them answers. Whether it’s protein development, protein expression or cell or gene therapy, you’ll always have an innovative solution that you just can’t wait to tell them all about.

Based out of our Raleigh office, you’ll be spearheading our drive into biologics, but you’ll have the company of around ten colleagues. Given a thorough induction and regular liaison with the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), who is based in Switzerland, and the UK Commercial Manager – Head of Product Management means you’ll get to work with some of the best minds in the industry and forge close links to your colleagues in Switzerland and the UK. And you’ll know that they’ve got your back while you’re traveling globally, dazzling potential clients with your knowledge of biologic manufacturing process, formulations and materials. This is an opportunity to acquire the kind of skills and mentoring that will put your career on an exciting new trajectory – not something you’ll find most places in this sector.

What kind of multi-skilled commercial science brain does it take to do this?

Well, the kind that has real passion for their specialism and who wants to get out there and share it with the world. This isn’t a role for you if your interest in science is confined to the laboratory. This is about getting your knowledge out there. Post Covid-19, you’ll be traveling up to 30% of the time – and getting face-to-face with potential clients. And that’s what’s most important. You may have only finished your degree or PhD in Biologics, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Human Biological Sciences or Biophysics a couple of years ago, but the time you then spent in a CMDO or biologics manufacturer will aid you in successfully guiding our development plans to help us set up this new division.

Sure, it’s about having great interpersonal skills, but it also comes down to knowing how to develop strategies and being business as well as scientifically minded. That means being able to work well with others in your team, as well as having all the software essentials (Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Like we said – this really is an opportunity to take on the world. If you are looking to build a long-term career with a friendly company that loves nothing more than to promote from within, it’s time to make your mark.
