Job Description:

This position is the leader of the Neuroscience (NS) marketing team and will lead the U.S. inline Marketing of Dysport® for Cervical Dystonia (CD) Adult Upper Limb (AUL) Adult Lower Limb (ALL) and Pediatric Lower and Upper Limb (PLL, PUL) spasticity. As head of Neuroscience Marketing, this position is expected to lead the brand team in the development and execution of short / mid / and long-term strategy as well as annual operations plan. Additionally, this role will provide critical strategic input to global strategies related to the products and business development activities for the Neuroscience therapeutic area.

Leadership skills will be critical in this role. The current Dysport® sales/marketing activities are directed toward overcoming slow launches, so a disciplined and clearly articulated path is needed for breakthrough sales growth. Providing marketing direction as well as leading the cross functional brand team to achieve best in class performance is imperative. Additionally, this position will lead the Marketing team and be responsible for the hiring and development of top marketing talent to achieve milestones and business objectives.


Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Ensure all annual commercial objectives associated with Dysport are achieved. This includes sales, margin targets, and other key performance indicators.
  • Lead marketing team in development of all marketing plans, strategies and tactics.
  • Create cross functional goals including sales, med affairs, managed care, reimbursement, supply chain, business operations, etc. that serve to meet overall brand objectives.
  • Forecasting and monitoring gross and net sales -conducting channel and payer assessments in line with managed markets strategy to ensure brand contributions are in line with corporate expectations.
  • Lead the development of all marketing plans and tactics (patient/caregiver/DTP, digital strategy, professional promotions, sales communications
  • Lead the development of promotional concepts focused on primary target audience of prescribing clinicians.
  • Accountable for the development and successful management of an annual brand budget, collaboration with functional leadership to ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Serve as a member of the Global NS Leadership team and represent US in Global Strategic and or Life Cycle Management Discussions
  • Work closely with appropriate internal and external resources (vendors) to develop and execute appropriate market research initiatives that identify/confirm key business needs.
  • Create and implement sales collateral and patient education materials
  • Develop and execute highly effective sales direction and training
  • Ensure measurement marketing program efficacy metrics and ROI
  • Liaise with advocacy groups, KOLs and other customer segments.
  • Work closely with Medical, MSL's, meeting planning and sales to develop and execute a coordinated, cross-functional plan for achieving company objectives at medical conferences.
  • Work closely with vendors to conceptualize, develop, and execute all patient education and promotional materials and programs.
  • Complies with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Ipsen U.S. staff.


  • Degree Requirements Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent, MBA preferred

  • Biopharma commercial leadership; minimum 10 years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience, with at least 3 of those years in U.S. Neurology marketing
  • Neuroscience KOL experience, preferably in neurotoxin community
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to influence others
  • Ability to work with multiple internal cross-functional teams and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated consistent track record of success and delivering strong sales results
  • Strong scientific/medical aptitude and experience
  • Experience in building or executing physician training programs
  • Significant experience in, and knowledge of, Neuroscience specialty markets with complex science and buy and bill reimbursement
  • Successful people management experience with direct reports and leading teams
  • Demonstrated success in project, vendor, and budget management
  • Pharmaceutical sales and/or sales management experience
  • Knowledge of the AMA, ACCME, PhRMA and FDA regulations associated with promotion and industry-supported scientific education activities.
  • Effective profit and loss (P&L) management experience
  • Working within an environment of strict compliance to all appropriate regulatory guidelines to successfully design and execute tactics, programs and tools that achieve business objectives.
  • Willingness/ability to travel domestically. International travel may be required.
  • Knowledge PC literacy required; MSOffice skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Regularly required to operate standard office equipment (personal computer, photocopy machine, fax machine, etc.)
  • Ability to work on a computer up to 7 hours a day.
  • Regularly required to sit for long periods of time, and occasionally stand and walk.
  • Regularly required to use hands to operate computer and other office equipment.
  • Close vision required for computer usage.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, climb and lift up to 25 pounds
