Why Join Intellia?

Our mission is to develop curative genome editing treatments that can positively transform the lives of people living with severe and life-threatening diseases.

Beyond our science, we live our four core values: One, Explore, Disrupt, Deliver and feel strongly that you can achieve more at Intellia. We have a single-minded determination to excel and succeed together. We believe in the power of curiosity and pushing boundaries. We welcome challenging thoughts and imagination to develop innovative solutions. And we know that patients are counting on us to make the promise a reality, so we must maintain high standards and get it done.

We want all of our people to go beyond what is possible. We aren't constrained by typical end rails, and we aren't out to just treat people. We're all in this for something more. We're driven to cure and motivated for change. Just imagine the possibilities of what we can do together.

How you will Achieve More with Intellia:

As a Research Associate in the RNA technologies team, you will provide a critical production and analytical role synthesizing and characterizing RNAs for RNA platform. You will work on various key tasks and projects including:
  • Synthesize RNA from DNA template sources leveraging established enzymatic in vitro transcription processes to deliver high quality transcripts for downstream applications at small and medium scales
  • Leverage existing workflows to purify and characterize RNAs by established methods including gel and capillary electrophoresis, size exclusion, and HPLC based chromatographic methods.
  • Continue to improve and build new tailored processes for RNA synthesis and purification including integrating automation to streamline workflows
  • Collaborate with colleagues to further develop enzymatic processes and analytical methods to characterize and improve key quality attributes of novel RNAs
  • Work closely together with a larger team to develop new biochemical and biological characterization methods for RNA's that meet RNA platform needs

This is a unique role that will provide you with opportunities to impact the RNA platform by:
  • Collaborating closely with the internal RNA platform team as well as key stakeholders company-wide to deliver RNA materials of interest for downstream applications
  • Independently managing a production responsibility while continuing to explore and improve existing workflows in collaboration with the team to meet research needs.
  • Marinating a high-quality electronic notebook and generating key summary reports and data interpretations for both internal and cross-collaborative projects
  • Leverage opportunities to learn and contribute toward new biochemical and biological assays in small cross-functional team settings.

We are looking for a May 2021 graduate, B.S. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field, we're interested in speaking with you! Wet lab experience (either by undergraduate research or industrial internship) is highly desirable but not required.

Meet your future team:

The RNA chemistry and delivery sciences team are a fun, energetic, and passionate group of individuals whose mission is to develop the chemical building blocks that enable curative therapies. You will report directly to the Principal Scientist lead for RNA platform technologies. This hiring manager oversees Intellia's research platform for mRNA and sgRNA early discovery and hit-to-lead efforts supporting Intellia's proprietary lipid nanoparticle delivery platform. Given the breadth of work on this team, the candidate will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of areas within the Chemistry and Delivery sciences spaces that support Intellia's gene editing pipeline.

The team is currently working mostly onsite to execute workflows in a wet-lab environment. Therefore, we strongly prefer the candidate to be currently local to Cambridge MA, or open to relocating. While much of the day-to-day operations require wet-lab work, our team is focused on building not just technical expertise but fostering an environment for growth of young scientists interested in a career in RNA-biotech. If you join our team, you can expect to join a hardworking and collaborative environment. We look forward to fostering your skills, learning from your experiences, and building a larger team that will make a difference in patient's lives.
