Mabwell Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated, independent and goal-oriented research scientist to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and performing biochemical and cell-based assays to enable Mabwell drug discovery programs. In addition, the candidate will contribute to the design/execution of in vivo studies to investigate the mechanism of action and to characterize PK/PD/efficacy of drug candidates.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, plan and execute studies and experiments with minimum supervision
- Develop and conduct cell-based functional assays to characterize drug candidates using assays such as reporter assays, ELISA, flow cytometry and RT-qPCR
- Develop and execute in vivo studies to characterize PK/PD/efficacy of Mabwell drug candidates
- Design and conduct in vitro/in vivo studies to investigate the mechanism of action of Mabwell drug candidates
- Effectively communicate with protein engineering colleagues to ensure the availability of test material
- Align literature research and experimental efforts with project goals and specific disease areas
- Analyze, summarize and communicate data at team meetings
- Drive discussions to actionable next steps
- Writes and reviews manuscripts for publication
- Other duties as needed for project advancement
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- PhD in Biology (or equivalent) with 1-3 years of relevant post-doctoral and/or industry experience; MS with minimum 5 years of experience in pharma/biotech environment
- Proficient with sterile techniques and mammalian cell culture, including both established cell lines and culture of primary immune cells
- Experienced in mouse handling, dosing and blood/tissue collection
- Scientific background in immunology or neuroscience is highly desirable
- Ability to multi-task/ prioritize and time management of daily activities
- Flexibility with working on novel targets and various disease areas
