Metrology Specialist I

The purpose of this is position is to provide Metrology support to all Pacira user groups. The individual will also serve as the primary contact within the department for interaction with all external groups concerning Metrology related issues; the position requires working with outside contractors, vendors, and general technical support assistance to manufacturing, lab, and clinical staff. The individual will coordinate the automated work recall system, cGxP record system incorporating equipment histories and service data and spare parts inventory

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the creation and reconciliation of Calibration work orders performed by the Metrology staff.
• Coordinate the creation, maintenance, and reconciliation of complete equipment service files and associated O and M (operation and maintenance) files.
• Collect and organize technical data from equipment manufacturers, equipment users, and engineering personnel.
• Monitor the implementation of all revised SOP’s by ensuring timely training and documentation.
• Coordinate and / or oversee outside contractors providing calibration services.
• Review calibration certificates performed by outside vendors and contractors.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between the Metrology Department and all outside departments for the purpose of ensuring the timely processing of document change requests, deviation reports, and engineering change requests.
• Perform all necessary follow up actions, on behalf of the Metrology Department, for system audits performed by outside departments.
• Act as a representative of Metrology at various multi-department meetings as well as a liaison between the Metrology Department and other departments for the purpose of ensuring timely repairs and calibrations at Pacira.
• Coordinate all Calibrations & Corrective maintenance for Metrology.  Schedule all in- house & contractor activities.
• Collect & organize a reporting mechanism where team activities/achievements as related to the Calibrations & corrective maintenance is submitted at the end of each week. 
• Coordinate the selection, purchase, organization, and replenishment of Metrology and automation department spare parts “MRO”.
• Ship and receive instrumentation for calibration and repair to off-site vendors.

Qualifications:

• 2 years of relevant Metrology experience.
• AA degree in technical field or equivalent experience.
• Exceptional and consistent organizational skills.
• Must have proficient oral and written English communication skills.
• Working knowledge of cGxP requirements; general and with respect to Metrology requirements within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Detailed knowledge of automated recall systems used to manage regularly occurring maintenance tasks for equipment and systems.
• Detailed knowledge of Quality systems and requirements as they related to Metrology operations.
• Detailed knowledge of MRO process and inventory controls
• Ability to organize personal tasks and concurrently monitor service providers /assignments.
• Ability to work closely with a diverse group of professionals
