We are looking for a highly motivated and talented individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced and highly dynamic working environment to join the Translational Immunology Group in Worcester. The successful candidate will provide dedicated support to the team by conducting in vitro and ex vivo studies to develop biomarker assays that can be deployed in early clinical trials to measure drug pharmacodynamics, disease related changes and selection of patients most likely to respond to the therapy. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and productive, with excellent communication skills and strong functional expertise in cell culture, as well as standard molecular biology and biochemical techniques. Experience in flow cytometry is highly recommended.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform routine tasks competently and independently and generate reliable and consistent results in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate experimental precision and strong data interpretation skills and should possess understanding of core discipline.
  • Analyze and critique results, noting significant deviations.
  • Troubleshoot experiments and instrumentation.
  • Learn and understand new experimental techniques.
  • Demonstrate skill in multiple techniques and appropriately modify protocols, as required, to suit the changing needs of research or development sciences.
  • Place data in proper scientific context by consulting and citing relevant literature.
  • Work collaboratively with matrixed project teams and members of the group to drive innovation and deliver novel therapies for patients.
  • Timely documentation of experiments and activities in electronic archive systems.
  • Engage colleagues in cross-disciplinary scientific discussion, and present data to the team.


  • Bachelor or master's degree in Cell and/or Molecular Biology, Immunology, or related field, 0-5+ (BS) or 0-2+ (MS) years of academic or industry experience
  • Expertise in mammalian cell culture is required.
  • Proficiency in a wide range of molecular biology and immunology techniques (e.g. RNA isolation, cDNA synthesis, qPCR, flow cytometry) is required.
  • Experience in both biologic and small molecule therapeutic research preferred.
  • Experience in isolating human or murine immune cells is preferred.
  • Experience in working in a BSL2 facility is preferred.
  • Must possess the ability to design experiments and think independently.
  • Strong communication and organization skills, especially the ability to work across multiple scientific disciplines and functions.
