SUMMARY OF ROLE

The Strategic Planning Senior Associate will work with the Commercial department, as well as the Inflammatix senior leadership team, to develop and implement the company's long-term vision and strategy. While the senior associate will formally report to the Director of Strategic Planning, they are expected to engage regularly with individuals across the company. The senior associate will support identification, evaluation, and recommendations of new products, strategic programs, and business development initiatives. These evaluations will include financial, epidemiological, technical, competitive, and mission-fit analysis. As necessary, the role will require engagement in business development, commercialization, financial planning, and other important cross-functional projects. A successful candidate requires superior analytical and communication skills along with the ability to work well cross-functionally internally and with external partners.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assess clinical and commercial markets for novel product opportunities; conduct primary and secondary market research, create target product profiles, build supporting investment theses including valuation
  • Perform financial analysis of various strategic initiatives including out-licensing, acquisitions, strategic investments, new product assessment, and business development opportunities
  • Refine existing market models to better describe clinical and commercial opportunities across our product portfolio; pressure-test assumptions, identify knowledge gaps, develop and execute market research plan
  • Analyze industry trends, competitive developments, and expansion opportunities
  • Work cross-functionally with department heads to support budgeting and financial forecast as needed
  • Represent Inflammatix in business development and commercialization endeavors

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Bachelor's degree with MBA or relevant advanced degree a plus
  • Conducted primary and secondary market research in the healthcare industry
  • Experience obtaining feedback for new medical product concepts
  • Demonstrated superior financial modeling and presentation skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, including creating and executing thoughtful project plans
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including presenting concise and persuasive arguments to the senior executive team
  • Coachability and willingness to learn
  • Thrives in a fast-paced small company environment
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

COMPENSATION AND CLASSIFICATION:
  • Role will be remote with eventual transition to office-based at Inflammatix headquarters (Burlingame, California). Transition will be guided by state and local ordinances
  • Classification: Full-time
