Fate Therapeutics is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join the company's assay development team. The individual should have excellent laboratory skills to conduct in vitro
bioassays to characterize Fate's novel, engineered iPSC-derived NK cell and T cell products. The successful candidate will develop, implement, and transfer assays that will support the functional characterization and safety evaluation of therapeutic candidates. This position requires experience with molecular biology and tissue culture techniques, and primary cell-based assays utilizing a variety of readout technologies including PCR. This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Scientist, Bioanalytical Development and is located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities:
• Extraction and quantitation of nucleic acids from cell lines, primary human cells, and iPSC-derived drug products for confirmation of identity, quantitation of gene expression, and
characterization of cell purity.
• Execution of established qPCR and ddPCR assays to characterize iPSC-derived NK and T cell products.
• Development and optimization of novel PCR-based assays for quality control of iPSC-derived
drug products.
• Report writing and execution of assay qualification and validation studies to support FDA filings and clinical trials.
• Data analysis, data interpretation, data presentations, detailed record keeping and SOP writing.
• Ordering and maintaining stocks of lab reagents and samples. Requirements:
• B.S. degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant lab experience in molecular biology, cell biology,
developmental biology, immunology or other related fields.
• Prior cell culture experience is required.
• Prior qPCR experience is required.
• Prior ddPCR experience is preferred.
• Prior flow cytometry data acquisition and analysis experience is preferred.
• Excellent communication, time management, record keeping and data analysis skills.
• The ability to successfully pursue both individual tasks and take direction in a group environment.
Working conditions and Physical Requirements
• Will require working with cell lines of human origin
• May require working with rodent models
• 100% on-site work at corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA
• Occasional evening and weekend work will be required
