Job Description:

Position Overview: The Business Integrated Insights Lead - Advanced Analytics is responsible for the strategic expansion of the portfolio of methodologies available for data-driven insight generation at Ipsen. The scope of this role includes execution of analyses around marketing and channel mix, resource optimization, ROI, and digital analytics. This role performs pilot analyses to generate new insights using the latest techniques in data science, and evaluates the inclusion of those techniques into the regular activities of the Business Analytics function.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Fulfill ad hoc requests from across the organization using advanced data science (e.g., around marketing and channel mix, resource optimization, ROI, and digital analytics)
  • Recommend the addition of new techniques to the Business Analytics portfolio, based on strategic goals of the organization and gaps in current capabilities
  • Interface with Integrated Insights to design, produce, and present new analyses for brand and other functional teams
  • Communicate the implications and value of insights generated from pilot analyses to Ipsen stakeholders using high-quality data visualizations
  • Train Business Analytics to regularly perform activities that show value and feasibility in pilot analyses
  • Continuously improve the utilization of Ipsen data sources by using advanced analytical techniques to proactively identify quality issues or potentially valuable new insights Suggest and implement improvements to business processes behind report production
  • Monitor and report the performance of vendors for analytics production and data warehousing
  • Communicate report findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders as needed
  • Comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Ipsen U.S. staff


Requirements:
  • Master's or PhD in quantitative field preferred
  • BA/BS in quantitative field required
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis in the commercial life sciences
  • Demonstrated success acting as a strategic thought leader and innovator of new analytical techniques in a matrix organization


Core Competencies (Specific knowledge, skills and abilities that enable an individual to effectively perform the job)
  • Ability to propose, implement, and evaluate the use of leading-edge techniques in data science to address challenges of commercial operations in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Ability to create high-quality data visualizations to explain new analyses and concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Detailed knowledge of common data sets used to track performance in commercial life sciences (e.g., SP, SD, 3PL, claims data)
  • Thorough understanding of commercial aspects of the pharmaceuticals market; including brand management, supply chain, sales planning and execution, market access, and reimbursement challenges
  • Comfortability managing multiple competing projects and the ability to prioritize work based on needs of the organization
