Senti Bio is seeking a collaborative and passionate Research Associate to join our Gene Circuit Discovery group. Senti is developing cell-type and cell-state specific promoters to address critical needs in gene and cell therapies. The Research Associate will contribute to this effort by applying expertise to screen bioinformatically-informed promoter designs using molecular biology and mammalian cell culture for therapeutic gene circuits. The ideal candidate will design and execute in vitro experiments in mammalian cells, communicate findings, and will collaborate with cross-functional groups at Senti.

Responsibilities
    • Generate viral and non-viral vectors for functional screening
    • Perform and execute high-throughput screening in mammalian cell lines
    • Document experiments by generating timely records of protocols and data using Senti's electronic lab notebook (e.g. Benchling)
    • Coordinate with other group members and research teams at Senti to develop new assays and support cross-functional projects
    • Collaborate with lead scientist to analyze data and present results to stakeholders
    • Increased responsibility for independent research commensurate with experience


Basic Qualifications
    • B.S. in biotechnology, bioengineering, molecular biology, synthetic biology, virology or equivalent
    • 2 years of experience in an academic or industry setting
    • High level of experience with mammalian cell culture
    • Proficient with flow cytometry
    • Desire to be a team player in a fast-paced startup environment


Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with viral transduction approaches
    • Experience with cell sorting approaches
    • Experience with next-generation sequencing (NGS) sample preparation and instrument operation
    • Experience with RNA extraction and quantification techniques
    • Experience with DNA assembly methods such as Gibson assembly
