Job Details

Seeking a forward-thinking and motivated candidate to transform high-throughput omics data into biological insights underpinning metabolic and cardiovascular disease. This is not a "pair of hands" position; you will have the opportunity (and expectation) to do independent research. Gaps in your knowledge will be filled by some of the best scientists in the industry.
In this role, a typical day might include the following:
  • Collaborate with bench scientists to understand the biological questions being asked, design genome-wide profiling experiments to address them, and perform a rigorous analysis of the resulting data using statistical and machine learning approaches.
  • Explore novel omics technologies like spatial transcriptomics and develop methods for data interpretation.
  • Implement pipelines to analyze and visualize data generated by novel -omics technologies.
  • Data mine public resources to validate and extend in-house findings.
  • Prepare presentations for collaborators and upper management; draft manuscripts for publication and conferences.
This job might be for you if you:
  • Love science, and have curiosity about the biology of disease.
  • Have a strong data science tool kit.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, and enjoy collaborative work.
  • Value scientific and statistical rigor, and "getting it right".

To be considered for this role, you must have a Master's degree in bioinformatics, statistics, physics, computer science, or other quantitative field. Strong background in biology. Fluency in Python, R or Matlab or C/C++, working in a Unix/Linux environment. Experience with bioinformatics tools, particularly related to RNA-Seq and genomics.
