We are seeking a highly motivated and driven Scientist Staff/Senior Scientist to join our Translational Research team. In this exciting role, you will work in close partnership with external industry and academic collaborators to coordinate program planning and execution process across a broad range of disciplines from the earliest drug discovery activities that cover proof-of-concept studies to IND-enabling activities.

Catalyst has compounds that span the value chain from the earliest discovery to late stage clinical trials with the intent of commercialization.

Responsibilities
  • Scientific liaison between Biogen and Catalyst to develop CB 2782-PEG for dry AMD patients
    • Enable efficient, effective and timely delivery of the program's milestones
    • Manage contractors and collaborators: drive in vivo and in vitro preclinical study designs, review scientific progress, data analysis, review protocols and study reports for consistency, completeness, and accuracy
    • Manage alignment between teams and build trusting relationship: lead efforts to increase alignment, mutual understanding, and trust between collaboration participants
    • Ensure scientific transition of the preclinical program towards development stage and serve as the partnership's memory
    • Communicate research findings in both written (presentation) and oral formats at subteam and project team levels (weekly and monthly)
  • Work collaboratively on multiple concurrent projects within Catalyst and coordinate activities with other team members to support complement discovery programs
  • High-level interpersonal skills to facilitate interactions with diverse stakeholders within and outside of Catalyst
  • Stay apprised of current translational medicine advancements and trends across complement related therapeutics

Requirements
  • PhD with minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience OR MS with 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Expertise in complement research is a plus
  • Knowledgeable with bioanalytical assays (antigen and ADA) employed during drug discovery and development
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to build relationships
  • Ability to work independently, attention to detail, display scientific curiosity and strong scientific rationale with well-developed critical reasoning skills
