Associate Scientist, Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics (DMPK)

Description

We are seeking an Associate Scientist to join the Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) team at Avidity Biosciences. The main objective for this position will be to aid in the expansion of our antibody oligonucleotide conjugates (AOC) platform and to leverage our technology into new therapeutic areas.

The ideal candidate will have an innovative and curious attitude, a scientific mindset and a desire to improve patients' lives through technology. The candidate should also be flexible and adaptable to the evolving nature a rapidly expanding company and department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities of this position will encompass planning and performing lab experiments as well as data analysis and presentation. The position will require a large effort in novel assay identification and assay development. As such, we are looking for someone who can assess the state of the art and identify the best technologies available that are most appropriate to achieving our goals. There will be significant opportunity to contribute ideas and to find creative solutions to difficult problems.

Required Experience & Skills:
• Prior hands on lab experience with most of the following techniques: RNA isolation, qPCR, ELISA, Nanostring, cell culture, western blot, immunohistochemistry, RNAscope
• Ability to conduct self-directed research and to work effectively in a dynamic environment with a diverse team of coworkers
• Solid written and oral communication skills, enthusiasm, integrity, exceptional problem-solving skills, self-motivation, strong interpersonal skills, and attention to detail are necessary
• Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborations both internal and external

REQUIREMENTS:

• BS (5+ years of experience) or MS (2+ years of experience) Bioengineering,Biology, or related discipline
