Reporting to the Associate Director of Training, US Market Access, the Sr National Sales Training Manager, is responsible for the planning, design, delivery and pull-through of the commercial training strategy, to the US Market Access Sales Organization, in perfect alignment with AbbVie's Market Access strategy.

Role Scope:
  • Impact: Plan, design and deliver inventive, enduring and innovative training solutions that build skills and knowledge across all Market Access competencies. Create learning solutions and experiences that span the Market Access commercial approach such as;
  1. Value proposition training, custom built for messaging each access stakeholder
  2. Patient access journey education and Disease State landscape, Population Health, and RWE education across all AbbVie Therapeutic Areas
  3. Educate teams on Federal & State Health Care policy and its influence on the access landscape
  4. Develop content in advanced topics in patient value and access from benefit design across channels, to formulary, class and utilization management trends, plus the actuarial fundamentals therein
  5. Educate on Marketplace stakeholder dynamics including detailed training on all entities across the supply and value chain, their interactions, channel economics, entity strategies, value determinants and emergent industry trends
  6. Maximize team skills of Contract lifecycle management, negotiation skills, and business review delivery
  7. Develop team capabilities of complex selling and Strategic Account Management, powerful storytelling and messaging, plus development of business acumen such as P&L awareness and 'gross-to-net'

  • Onboard: Lead and deliver best-in-class onboarding experiences for new Market Access team members
  • Knowledge: Maintain superior knowledge of market access dynamics, processes and economics, thorough understanding of reimbursement, payment and quality processes, deep awareness of managed market and supply chain entities, advanced knowledge of benefit design (including formulary management and UM), good awareness of federal health care policy and competitive access strategies, excellent knowledge of Market Access industry bodies (AMCP/PCMA/PhRMA, etc), and a thorough comprehension of the different access strategies that can be employed across the channel mix (Medicare/Medicaid/Commercial/Employer/IDN/VA/DOD/DOCetc)
  • Oversight: Ensure all activities are executed compliantly and with the requisite review, oversight and documentation
  • Expertise: Manage and build strong partnerships with industry experts and speakers

  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required. MBA, Or relevant Master's Degree preferred
  • Product launch experience in the Biopharma, Device or Health Care product/plan space
  • 5+ Years in a sales and/or marketing role with direct people leadership
  • 3+ Years Market Access stakeholder RFP/contracting experience (Payer, PBM, Distribution and/or IDN) preferred
  • Fluency in use of Virtual meeting platforms, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
