Integral Medicines uses next-generation CRISPR based technology platforms for developing curative gene correction-based stem cell therapies for serious and life-threatening genetic diseases with inadequate existing treatment options

Summary:

Graphite Bio is seeking a highly motivated Scientist, Bioinformatics, to develop the core bioinformatics pipelines to characterize CRISPR edits as well as DNA integration events in primary cells of therapeutic interest.

What You Will Do:
    • Establish and optimize the bioinformatic pipeline for assessing on and off-target DNA edits using state-of-the-art next-generation sequencing methods.
    • Develop informatic approaches to determine types and frequencies of DNA integrations as well as other on- and off-target double-stranded break meditated changes.
    • Create NGS analysis workflows to characterize Drug Products derived using Graphite's gene-editing approaches for first-in-human clinical trials.
    • Work with interdisciplinary teams including discovery research, preclinical pipeline development, and clinical science.


What You Will Bring:
    • Ph.D. in computational biology, bioinformatics, genetics, or closely related field
    • Experience developing and maintaining NGS analysis pipelines is a must
    • Experience running analyses in different compute environments
    • Use of R or Python for bioinformatic analyses of DNA variants
    • Ability to clearly and succinctly communicate results
    • Background working with engineered nuclease and/or CRISPR gene editing preferred
    • In-depth knowledge of cell and gene therapy preferred
    • Experience with single cell sequencing workflows a plus
    • Strong publication record demonstrating significant contributions to the field
    • Excellent communication, organization, interpersonal and scientific writing skills
    • Proven ability to positively impact company culture and demonstrate flexibility in fast-paced environment
