4DMT is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Associate Scientist to support all aspects of our Histopathology and Immunohistochemistry lab. Duties will include (but are not limited to) tissue trimming/grossing, processing, embedding, microtomy, immunohistochemistry/in-situ hybridization/immunofluorescence staining and assay development, whole slide scanning and image analysis in support of critical preclinical and clinical studies. Duties will also include data summary in the form of project reports and effective presentation of results. The candidate will need to work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast paced environment and be comfortable with changing priorities. The ideal candidate would also be an excellent communicator who is team oriented.

  • On-site lab work: (60% of working time)
  • IHC, ISH (or other) assay development and/or routine experiments
  • Microtomy and slide preparation
  • Digital slide scanning and archiving samples
  • Refines and develops new scientific methods and protocols
  • FFPE and frozen pathology sample preparation and handling
  • Data analysis/summary, administrative duties: (40% of working time)
  • Planning and design of IHC, ISH (or other) research experiments
  • Maintains detailed and up to date scientific records
  • Attends departmental and cross-functional meetings
  • Image analysis
  • Generate and present scientific project reports

  • Education & Experience:
  • MS or BS in related scientific discipline, 3+ years industry experience
  • Experience with the following scientific technical areas:
  • FFPE/frozen sample preparation
  • Immunohistochemistry
  • In-situ hybridization
  • immunofluorescent
  • Assay development
  • Cell culture
  • Molecular biology
  • Whole slide scanning
  • Image analysis

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift 30 lb. reagent carboys
  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing
  • Ability to be on-site 3 days per week during COVID-19
  • Adherence to lab and COVID-19 PPE protocols
