Specific Responsibilities:
A summer research internship is available in the Department at the San Dimas/La Verne, CA, campuses of Gilead Sciences. The candidate should be enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate Program with a Major in Chemistry or Chemistry related field.
Essential Functions:
Under general supervision, coordinates waste management, LEAN and 6S efforts as required. Perform final product, raw material and intermediate release testing which includes (but not limited to) pH, Karl Fisher, UV-Vis, Particle Size, acid-base titration, wet chemistry, and chromatographic analyses. Assists in laboratory method and/or instrumentation validation activities. Orders supplies and assigns expiry to incoming materials, tracks requisitions and reconciles against incoming materials and invoices. May perform special projects as assigned.

- Must be at least 18 years old
- Undergraduate (or graduate student, if applicable) in the or related field enrolled in a 4-year accredited university/college; including enrollment in the Fall Semester after completing the internship
- Ability to complete 25-35 consecutive weeks between October 2020 and August 2021
- Understanding of the General Chemistry techniques.
- Knowledge of HPLC systems.
- Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
