The Zebrafish Core is a newly formed core facility sought at using zebrafish genetic models to discover novel targets and molecular mechanisms of interest to the various groups at Regeneron. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Aquatics Animal Care Tech to join the Zebrafish Core to provide a variety of aquaculture supports for our discovery and development efforts.

In this role, a typical day may include:
• Performs daily observations to check zebrafish health status
• Assist in supervising embryo care and transfer on and off nursery tanks
• Feed fish using automated system
• Environmental monitoring with associated documentation
• Changing and cleaning tanks, equipment and feeds
• Assist in new zebrafish lines upon arrival (this involves tracking of fish in quarantine, ensuring biosecurity measures are being exercised and fish strains are transitioned properly into general holding in the zebrafish facility.)
• Janitorial maintenance of facility rooms and stocking of husbandry related supplies, including monthly sanitation of equipment and facility
• Responsible for preventative maintenance of aquatics facility equipment and supplies
• Daily monitoring and oversight of Filtration system
• Assist in breeding of zebrafish

To be considered for this role, you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent technical certificate. A minimum of one-year experience in zebrafish care is preferred for this position. AALAS certification at the ALAT level is desired (required after first year of employment.)

Work Environment:
Position requires working closely with zebrafish in a laboratory animal facility. Some noises may be associated with this position. Ability to lift 30 pounds required.

Weekend, Nights, Holidays:
This position is deemed essential personnel. Weekend and Holiday work is required. Emergency response may be needed (including nights.)

This position will require the individual to pass a physical before beginning employment.
