We are looking for an Associate Director Sourcing to join our rapidly growing Strategic Sourcing team. You will develop & lead the local sourcing strategies primarily within CapEx (Capital Equipment, Construction) along with Facilities (MRO, and Facility Operations & Services) consistent with a global strategy. The Associate Director Sourcing will be a business strategy influencer & collaborator by advising Regeneron local stakeholders on supply market dynamics and leading practices which maximize value, minimize risk, and ensure quality & cost effectiveness. In this critical role, you will ensure that the global category strategy is consistently executed within the supply market by collaborating with sourcing managers and other peers.

As an Associate Director Sourcing, a typical day might include the following:
  • Developing and leading RFx processes to ensure competitive pricing is obtained for goods and services
  • Developing and implementing CapEx and Facilities category projects to assist in the development of category strategies
  • Identifying and resolving unique situations of substantial significance in the sourcing spend
  • Applying resourcefulness and creativity to problem analysis and resolution in complicated and/or novel situations
  • Executing the local market Supplier Management Program including risk, performance, relationship, and supplier development pillars
  • Either directly or through a matrix structure, leading teams of professional level employees responsible for performing sourcing tasks to carry out local sourcing and supply management tasks
  • Directing local country market sourcing & supplier relationship activities which serve the needs of the business units
  • Reviewing local contracts for key areas of spend; monitoring trends/patterns within the spend under management, and servings as the primary point for supply market negotiations
  • Participating in the planning and management of budgets, policies and practices for the sourcing function with significant impact on area operations
  • Advising and influencing decision making at the management and executive level
  • Leading the local supply market evaluation process by utilizing all available market intelligence, risk, compliance, and financial assessment tools
  • Conducting local supplier negotiations using a leader mastery level skill set

This role might be for you if you:
  • Have demonstrated experience leading multiple spend categories and strategic sourcing teams
  • Enjoy working with ambiguity to anticipate future local business requirements in complex and/or multiple business unit stakeholder categories.
  • Are a master negotiator and are experienced with program and project management as well as cost modeling
  • Possess working knowledge of sourcing contracting tools, ERPs, and eRFx systems (e.g. Oracle, Zycus, GEP, Ariba)
  • Can formulate high level presentations and business cases
  • Are skilled at building consensus, collaboration, and creativity within a team
  • Are open to some travel domestically and internationally

To be considered for this role you must have Bachelor's degree plus 10 years of relevant, progressive experience within procurement, to preferably include 7 years directly in sourcing Pharma/Biotech. We would also consider applicants with a Master's degree plus 8 years of relevant procurement experience, preferable with 5 years of sourcing directly within Pharma/Biotech. A degree in engineering or a technical area is preferred.
