This role is accountable to manage supply chain and logistics duties for Akron's plasmid development and manufacturing facility.

General Responsibilities
  • Responsible for material planning, materials management, inventory control, product tracking, shipping/receiving, and logistics.
  • Oversee inventory of materials and operating supplies, general and raw materials, components, equipment and maintenance supplies.
  • Maintain and understand the plant scheduling process.
  • Understand impacts of demand on planning cycle looking forward.
  • Monitor product life cycles and alert appropriate team members to any actionable inventory requirements and supply disruptions.
  • Drive Materials Release process and communicate any and all shortages.
  • Conduct investigation and root cause analyses on any supply disruptions or material quality issues and report on corrective actions.
  • Own and manage deviations and corrective/preventive actions as well as change controls.
  • Establish a well-designed integrated demand and supply plan from raw materials to final distribution.
  • Track and report metrics for the supply chain function.
  • Foster a culture of compliance and safety.
  • Promote a mindset of continuous improvement, problem solving, and prevention.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to plan processes, improve systems, processes or internal/external performance.
  • This role will collaborate with stakeholders in Manufacturing, Engineering, Project Management, MSAT, Quality Assurance, Process Development, etc.
Requirements
  • BS in Supply Chain/Logistics, Business or a related degree.
  • 5 or more years relevant work experience required.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting ERP systems.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on all supply chain related work and activities.
  • In depth experience with and knowledge of planning / ERP systems and analytics tools.
  • Strong knowledge of materials management, planning and site production scheduling.
  • Ability to effectively communicate problem statements and viable solution options using pro vs. con and cost vs. benefit approaches
  • Knowledge of GMP regulations.
  • Ability to present data and analyses in an organized, clear and concise manner
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in the life sciences industry is highly desirable.
  • Ability to understand and solve supply chain issues as needed.
