CNS MABI: Marketing Research and Analytics, Associate Director

As an integral part of the CNS MABI team, this individual will play an important role in driving continued growth of our CNS brands. This individual will closely collaborate with internal stakeholders from Brand Marketing, Medical Affairs, Sales, Market Access, Patient Services, and Finance/ Forecasting to lead custom primary as well as secondary market research and data analytics that identify commercial opportunities and threats, support the development of strategies and tactics, provide data analytics support, and provide thought leadership to internal stakeholders.

  • A Strategic Advisor - Responsible for providing evidence-based, strategic guidance for brand and senior management on assigned CNS brands
  • A Data-Driven Decision-Maker - Ensure that marketing and business decision-making is supported by timely, accurate and cost-effective data and analysis
  • An Industry Expert - Maintain a vigilant watch over the health of assigned brands, alerting brand management of emerging commercial opportunities and threats
  • Cross-Functional Leader - builds solid relationships and become a trusted advisor to the Integrated Brand Team, guiding strategies and tactics based on superior, objective customer insights

YOU WILL:
  • Lead primary and secondary market research, competitive intelligence and business analyses to uncover insights that will help the team achieve business goals
  • Anticipate business needs and lead primary and secondary market research and tracking/reporting for the CNS brands
  • Possess an expert understanding of custom research methodologies and is highly proficient at supplier/stakeholder management, leading research programs to deliver compelling strategic and tactical insight
  • Actively identify, use and integrate appropriate secondary data sources to supplement primary research findings, triangulating strategic insights to uncover the truth; Deep understanding of applicability and limitations of primary versus secondary research
  • Ability to lead execution and integration of Competitive Intelligence in this ever-changing landscape, providing strategic insights and key CI implications for the brand
  • Combine deep knowledge of research findings along with strong influencing skills to guide brand business decisions in support of annual objectives
  • Work in a fast-paced environment to uncover actionable insights and business opportunities
  • Inform the annual financial forecasting and brand planning processes
  • Support the strategic/brand planning process by evaluating market conditions to identify growth opportunities and assisting in the development of tactical and strategic plans to grow
  • Collaborate with and contribute to Centers of Excellence within MABI drive holistic, actionable learnings
  • Manage the matrix - understand needs of various stakeholders and prioritize those needs based on the 'big picture' priorities for the brand and enterprise
  • Develop and maintain business rules for brand tracking and use of data sets from both third-party data vendors and internal data sources and analytics teams
  • Continually update knowledge of industry data sources & techniques that could be used to improve commercial analysis
  • Ensure all marketing research activities are conducted in accordance with financial and ethical compliance guidelines

Qualifications

YOU BRING:
  • An Undergraduate degree is required; an advanced business or scientific degree is highly preferred
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of a combination of Management Consulting, Market Research, Business Analytics, Project Management, and Marketing within a pharmaceutical, healthcare and/or bio-tech industry
  • Exceptional, crisp, persuasive oral and written communication skills driven by solid business logic is necessary for success in this role
  • A highly developed ability to frame and communicate issues in strategic terms, excellent consultative skills and good business sense
  • Expert knowledge of the design and conduct of a broad array of primary market research approaches, both quantitative and qualitative, of all degrees of sophistication
  • Fluency in the use of a wide range of secondary data sources including, but not limited to: standard sales, prescription, medical, and promotional audits, as well as general business and pharmaceutical industry sources of intelligence
  • Advanced knowledge of CI landscape, analysis, strategic implications, and pull through
  • Demonstrated ability to consider multiple sources of data and integrate them to deliver actionable recommendations to internal customers
  • Fluency in Excel and in PowerPoint
  • Proven experience as an integral member of a high performing work team
  • Strong familiarity with psychiatry is desired as well as a broad understanding of US healthcare and pharmaceutical industry issues and trends
