Marketing Director, Bone Health Customer Engagement

Osteoporosis affects nearly 13 million men and women in the U.S. and is responsible for an estimated 2 million osteoporosis-related fractures (bone breaks) per year. Although osteoporosis has many generic treatment options available, Amgen has emerged as the leader in this therapeutic area with our flagship brand, Prolia® which launched in 2010, and EVENITY® which launched in 2019.

In this critical leadership role you will develop strategies and communication plans to engage healthcare professionals (HCPs) through digital channels and promotional events that enable customer engagement, education, and utilization of our bone health brands. This role will chart the digital future for the franchise.
  • Partner across matrix teams to deploy digital capabilities that will serve the needs of our HCP customer targets, adapting enterprise-level initiatives to US market needs.
  • Set vision for bone health CRM, including target strategy, triggers, automation, and measurement; partner extensively with internal marketing operations, data analytics, and other centralized teams.
  • Lead all aspects of communicating with HCPs via digital channels and promotional events for both Prolia and EVENITY consistent with brand strategies. Scope includes speaker bureau activities, congresses, event marketing, and all digital channels including telehealth and branded websites targeting HCPs. Build interconnectivity between these channels.
  • Collaborate with marketing leads for Prolia and EVENITY as well as field sales leaders to ensure alignment with portfolio strategies and brand messages.
  • Partner with agency of record, production teams, and IT to design and produce customer communications; coordinate budget for creative, production and media targeting HCPs for assigned tactical channels.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a marketing team of 3-6 team members and contract workers.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA with marketing focus
  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical marketing/product management, with consistent track record of increased responsibilities over time
  • Strong leadership and people management/engagement skills with experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Produce business results in highly complex and heavily matrixed commercial environments
  • Technical marketing competencies: Marketplace/customer analysis and insight generation, customer segmentation, brand positioning, brand sustainability (campaign/message platform development), digital/CRM experience, execution excellence
  • Thorough understanding of the legal and regulatory environment in pharmaceutical promotions
  • Strong communication effectiveness: The ability to effectively engage, connect, and influence senior management and key internal partners
  • Ability to translate and communicate complex information/strategies into simple and impactful execution plans


Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree & 4 years of Marketing experience

OR

Master's degree & 6 years of Marketing experience

OR

Bachelor's degree & 8 years of Marketing experience
