We Are Genetic Navigators bringing together passionate, creative and dedicated professionals to join a rapidly-growing startup on our mission to translate novel genetic insights into lifesaving medicines. We are integrating human genetics and functional genomics to decode the mysteries of genetic modifiers, leading us to new medicines we'll develop for a range of severe diseases.

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated cell biologist to perform detailed mechanistic biology studies to support a lead program and drive discoveries for early programs. Strong candidates will be highly organized, eager to learn, and will have the self-confidence to work across boundaries to help answer challenging scientific questions.

Your Role in Navigating The Maze:
  • Design and perform in vitro and ex-vivo experiments for target validation and mechanistic studies in support of therapeutics development
  • Support the development of assay strategies and engage with members of the team in experimental design, troubleshooting, sample analysis, data interpretation, and report generation
  • Work well independently & in collaboration with colleagues across functional areas
  • Present data in biology group and project team meetings
  • Record protocols & data in electronic notebook

Your Navigation Tools:
  • B.S./M.S. in a biological science and at least 3-7 years of lab experience in a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or academic setting
  • Ideal candidates will have a depth of research experience in cell biology mechanistic work as well as development of new assays
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, and excited by the challenge of new experiments
  • Expertise with mammalian cell culture and running cell-based assays is required
  • Experience with rodent tissue processing and analysis (protein, RNA) is highly desirable
  • Experience with human sample processing and analysis (protein, RNA) is highly desirable
  • Laboratory skills required for the position include: Protein analysis (western blot/ELISA), gene expression analysis (qPCR), fluorescence microscopy & analysis
  • Additional laboratory skills that would be beneficial for the position include: in vitro enzyme assays, preparation of samples for RNAseq, lipidomics, live cell functional imaging assays
  • Confident data analysis skills and experience with a variety of scientific software applications is required
  • Excellent written & oral communication, collaboration, and time-management skills
