Position Overview
E-scape Bio Inc. is a clinical stage, Precision Neurology biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery and development of therapies to treat genetically defined, neurodegenerative diseases. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to support a drug development team in our organization. The individual will primarily be responsible for in vivo workstreams but will have a significant share of laboratory benchwork in support of drug development efforts. This individual will have a clear understanding of design and execution of in vivo neuro efficacy studies. The individual will demonstrate enthusiasm for, and a desire to learn about, the cause and cure of neurodegenerative disorders.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and prepare animal cohorts for experimental procedures- Breeding, study enrollment
- Perform daily formulation and administration of substances in support of drug discovery efforts (OG, IP, SC, IV)
- Perform animal behavioral assays- Behavioral Battery, experience with Ethovision XT and Erasmus Ladder a plus
- Colony management of multiple transgenic lines including breeding, tagging, weaning and genotyping
- Perform in vivo experimental procedures including tissue collection and processing, live sampling
- Perform molecular biology techniques such as PCR, immunoassays and tissue culture
- Adhere to safety policies, departmental SOPs, animal welfare guidelines and perform documentation for IAUCUC Protocols
- Work cross-functionally with multiple teams within the organization to achieve goals
- Maintain and complete documentation of all study procedures and data in an electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) and/or other animal tracking software
- Share weekend and holiday hours with peers on a rotational basis
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS or MS in life sciences with 4+ years in vivo experience; AALAS cert a plus
- Organized and disciplined with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Prism; experience with laboratory animal tracking software
- Experience with Survival Surgery techniques and Histology will be a plus
- Must be able to provide and follow verbal and written instructions and exhibit interpersonal skills that are conducive to effective communication and teamwork.
