PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Responsible for leading and coordinating materials planning and sourcing activities at Innfocus Miami Plant. This role functions within Santen’s North American Supply Chain group. Performs managerial functions of moderate to significant scope with a high-level of independence

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise finished goods production scheduling and ordering of time-critical materials based on Supply plan provided in the S&OP process by INC Supply chain planning team
  • Collaborate with logistics, purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and to support quarterly operational and scaling objectives, while minimizing freight costs and maintaining inventory levels (avoid both shortages and overages)
  • Proactively manage issues & concerns and act as escalation point to INC SC leadership and Plant manager; lead daily shortage meetings to ensure supply continuity based on supply plan, report on KPIs (inventory days on hand, line interruptions, expedite costs, etc.) and enforce best practices
  • Responsible for development and implementation of supply chain procedures in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Foster and develop a strong team of material planners, purchasers, inventory controllers to manage materials across the plant
  • Identify and lead SCM process improvement initiatives related to execution and planned growth, including but not limited to: procedural updates and communication pathways, improved hand-offs from purchasing to material planning and from material planning to internal customers, inventory optimization scenarios, analytics and KPI
  • Work with purchasing and logistics to establish delivery quantity and frequency of delivery to maintain Kanban
  • Provide input to INC planning team to prioritize change orders and collaborate with plant purchasing, engineering, production to manage such changes for part revisions and new product launches, targeting minimal obsolescence
  • Enforce maintenance of MRP master data parameters to ensure accurate production signals (i. e. lead times, MOQ s, lot sizing, safety stock); identify and resolve system and/or BOM inaccuracies to preserve data integrity

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s in Supply chain, Industrial Engineering, or similar discipline. CPIM or APIC training a plus
  • Minimum 10 years experience in manufacturing, logistics, or materials management in medical device industry and preferably in Class 2-3 devices
  • Minimum 5 years experience managing a supply and/or manufacturing team
  • Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of current GMP, GDP and ISO requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills in developing, implementing, and assessing key operational and financial metrics. Strong critical thinking and resolution skills in ambiguous situations
  • Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP with a solid understand of discrete manufacturing, bills of material, product lifecycle management, procure to pay processes and supply chain operations and high proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated skills in supplier operational and relationship management
  • Demonstrated resilience and capacity to lead a team through periods of change
