The Global Digital Commercial Capabilities Senior Manager will work as part of the Global Commercial Digital Capabilities team to further define how digital can support and accelerate the commercial strategy. The team will work with both the internal teams as well as understanding external market place to recommend how digital capabilities can accelerate our growth and be implemented across the full brand planning framework as well as patient journey. The team will build core capabilities for developing our omnichannel engagement strategy. The team will also evaluate how Amgen commercial currently executes digital commercial initiatives and assess optimal execution model. This person will be savvy in harnessing the power of technology and be adept at translating generated insights into intel that informs business strategy worldwide.

This role will be responsible for improving functionality, harmonizing, and streamlining effectiveness of our existing technology platforms (e.g., Veeva, Sales Force Marketing Cloud) and ensure seamless integration with our evolving virtual engagement channels. This role will be responsible for ensuring platforms maximize effectiveness of our omnichannel engagement.

This role's responsibility includes working with other global capabilities teams, regional commercial teams to shape digital tools to meet the needs of customer facing teams, with marketing excellence teams to shape content generation for digital channels, with Digital Health teams to pilot new technologies, and IS to build standardized approaches. Additionally, this role will build approaches to scale solutions globally.

The Senior Manager position requires a leader with diverse experience, broad capabilities, outstanding cross-functional collaboration skills, commercial acumen, the ability to operate globally and locally, and very strong influencing skills.

Roles & responsibilities
  • Optimize functionality of key digital platforms across regions and cross-functionally
  • Build and scale digital tools to support the in-market execution
  • Successfully develop approach to scale across brands and regions
  • Be an advocate for use of internally available innovation in commercial activity, making the business case and demonstrating how new and existing digital capabilities could positively impact existing business processes.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and provide them with required commercial inputs, encouraging a symbiotic and aligned relationship.
  • Maintain visibility into the digital capabilities' landscape to inform strategy development and to identify key trends and opportunities to shape how Amgen invests its resources
  • Builds and develops professional relationships with key customer decision-makers as appropriate
  • Works cross-functionally to build a digital capability to engage with our key customers more effectively in a remote / virtual environment.

Basic qualifications

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

OR

Master's degree and 4 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

OR

Bachelor's degree and 6 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

OR

Associate's Degree and 10 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

Preferred qualifications
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking and execution excellence skills honed by in-market experience at the affiliate level (ex-US plus US experience preferred)
  • Possesses an understanding of broad, global market dynamics and the cultural awareness and sensitivity to form relationships and work effectively with colleagues around the world
  • Experience and strong acumen in brand-planning processes, including the use and application of current tools and frameworks
  • Established performance record in-market leading key processes along the brand plan continuum from opportunity assessment to insight generation to customer engagement strategies to evaluating performance results
  • Experience managing external partners such as agencies
  • Seasoned leader with ability to confidently prioritize, direct, and manage multiple, complex, and interdependent capabilities and projects
  • Self-Starter and must possess leadership capabilities with little direct supervision
  • Exceptional project and time management skills
  • Very strong cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of internal organizational process and procedures
  • Excellent written, verbal and communication and presentation skills
  • Impeccable ethics and integrity and comfort operating in a highly regulated
