Purpose:

The Associate Manager of Advertising and Production (AMAP) monitors and manages the use of technical and creative resources, both internal and external, to help ensure that AbbVie customers receive complete, economical, and quality-oriented creative solutions. The Resource Center determines the most efficient use of available staff, and functions as the primary decision maker regarding the use of external vendors. This position will provide support to various Purchasing programs, including external vendor management, quarterly reviews, and category sourcing strategies.

This position will work on the definition and resolution of known or anticipated problems in value, quality, feasibility, and specifications in the procurement of goods and services, while contributing cost savings and other value added activity to support customer needs and expectations.

Responsibilities:

Create and manage bidding for small- and large-scale projects to select suppliers and achieve cost savings for AbbVie. Reviews estimates, selects suppliers from approved lists or networks, and assures delivery of quality products and services in compliance with Corporate Purchasing Guidelines.

Responsible for scheduling internal and external resources. Review and approve all estimates and invoices in a timely manner. Seek innovative solutions for the procurement process, develop action plans and participate in cross-functional, cross-divisional teams. Takes on project management role for selected commodities services.

Manage selected suppliers which range up to $2 million. Handles requisitions billed against established open-ended purchase orders up to $10 million annually. Create work orders and quotes, estimates and purchase requests per Corporate Purchasing Guidelines to assure proper billing.

Provide support to ensure continuous improvement in supplier/company interface. Seek, develop, and establish business relationships with diverse suppliers. Meet regularly with Stakeholders and support functions to ensure customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. Analyze supplier performance using rating system using established rating systems (e.g., supplier metrics program, supplier's goals, etc.).

Seek, develop, and maintain business relationships with suppliers. Expert in the use of procurement tools including but not limited to; Workbook and SAP. Proactive management of category and suppliers including anticipation, resolution and communication.

Review all final billing for accuracy and compliance with Corporate Purchasing Guidelines. Resolve any discrepancies regarding charges with supplier. Seek innovative solutions for the procurement process, develop action plans and participate in cross-functional, cross-divisional teams

Perform on-going analysis and cost reductions to ensure the lowest overall cost and highest possible value for dollars spent. Ability to perform in a multi-task environment without supervision. Understand and apply cultural awareness with foreign business entities.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

The AMAP must be competent with the use of Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Scheduling software, and FTP uploading and downloading software.

Must work well under pressure, exercising sound business judgment as well as good interpersonal skills. Must be able to articulate ideas to clients, internal staff and external suppliers.

Must have a good grasp of project time requirements to be able to meet deadlines, client expectations, and avoid over commitments.

S/he must, in turn, be able to clearly communicate with internal talent resources and any external supplier creating the project. Negotiation, Project Management, Cost analysis, Financial Analysis, and Contracting Experience

Must be able to work independently, prioritizing, and scheduling work that will be coming in from a variety of sources and for following projects through to completion with little direct supervision.

Minimum Education: BA/BS required. Master's degree desirable.

Minimum Experience: 5+ years of work experience.
