Job Details
Manager, Procurement and is located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities:
• Research, compare, analyze and negotiate prices with suppliers/vendors to obtain
service, products or product information, such as pricing, availability, and delivery schedule.
• Establish and maintain supplier/vendor relationships for purchases of materials and services.
• Promptly resolve discrepancies with vendors (backorders, damaged shipments, etc.).
• Estimate product values according to knowledge of market conditions and pricing trends
that affect purchase prices.
• Analyze quotes/proposals, perform cost/benefit analyses, and present/make
recommendations. Determine best method of procurement, such as direct purchase, bid or volume purchasing.
• Liaises with suppliers, distributors, and Fate's Legal, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Materials Management, Research, and Accounting teams.
• Review approved purchase requisitions for accuracy and completion as required.
• Maintain supplier database, such as contact information & contracts.
• Adheres to good documentation practices.
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree preferred with a minimum of 5 years of experience in related
position in biotech / pharmaceutical industry.
• Effective negotiation and persuasion skills.
• Sarbanes Oxley compliance & ERP system experience preferred.
• Exceptional organization and time management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Able to adjust to workload in an always changing, fast pace environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and electronic procurement systems
(preferably Fraxion) and the ability to quickly and easily learn new applications.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
• 100% on-site work at corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA
