This Financial Analyst is responsible for the compliance and transparency review/approval of Administrative Check Requests (ACRs) for the US Commercial organization dealing with Health Care Professionals (HCPs) and Health Care Organizations (HCOs). This role is also responsible for investigating, documenting, and reporting potential observations for US Commercial Expense Report transactions dealing with HCPs from an Operating Procedure for Programs Funding (OPPF) and transparency reporting requirement perspective. In addition, this role performs quarterly compliance monitoring of grant requests. For any issues found, the Financial Analyst is responsible for necessary corrections to the data to ensure accurate transparency reporting.

The Financial Analyst works closely with Purchasing and Supplier Management (PSM), Central Consultancy Group (CCG), Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Global Disbursement Operations (GDO), Field Operations, Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC), Legal, Global Grants and Charitable Donations (GGCD) and CA&O Business Compliance. The Financial Analyst leads the monitoring process of approximately 3,200 ACRs and 180,000 HCP Events in CTE Concur completed throughout the year, completes multiple analytics as requested, and manages relationship with key stakeholders ensuring accurate and timely reporting of HCP and HCO data.

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the HCP/HCO ACR and HCP expense report monitoring policies and procedures and ensuring monitoring is completed on a timely basis. Areas being monitored within ACRs are sponsorships, exhibits, corporate memberships, and consulting. Areas being monitored within expense reports are unpaid expenses rejected by the BPO auditors, duplicate/missing attendees, duplicate expense reports, meals over OPPF guidelines, off site meals, and late expenses submitted after reporting deadlines.
  • Perform quarterly monitoring of a sample of grant requests approved by GGCD for compliance with OPPFs and applicable US Commercial procedures.
  • Responsible for documenting all OPPF incidents for OEC monthly and providing training for those employees with incidents (primarily done via email).
  • Identify additional training opportunities for the sales force and home office to help minimize ACR and expense reporting errors such as creation of job aids, help desk opportunities and district/region training conference calls.
  • Cross functional partner with OEC to create monitoring governances across ACR and expense reporting areas of responsibility.
  • Lead in ACR, expense report and grant areas for special projects and system impacts/updates related to AbbVie, PCYC and AGN system and monitoring integrations as well as future opportunities.
  • Meet deadlines with minimal supervision and balance workload requirements. Focus attention on detail and compliance to OPPF requirements, financial policies, and federal/state laws. Must exhibit a high degree of integrity and be able to consistently enforce Corporate Finance Manual (CFM's) and OPPF's using Clear and Courageous behaviors.
  • Analyze data identifying pattern and trends instituting suggestions for correction of any errors encountered. Lead quarterly review of monitoring results and metrics to understand key drivers.
  • Look for ways to streamline processes to allow for efficient data correction and improved data quality. Consistently initiates and implements process improvements across departments and work group. Develops and proposes solutions to ambiguous problems.
  • Establishes and effectively manages timelines to ensure key tight reporting deadlines or project milestones are met on time, within budget and with accurately reported data.
  • Ensure correct reporting for all Transfer of Value (TOV) from AbbVie to the reportable HCPs and HCO's for US Commercial.
  • Support HCP Dispute Resolution, transparency reporting and audit related questions.
  • System expert for SNAPP, CTE Concur, DataMart, AggSpend 360. iREP and Rapid Zone.

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) - Preferred in Accounting, Finance or Business.
  • Knowledge of Regulations and Standards affecting Pharmaceutical Products.
  • Prior audit or compliance experience a plus.
  • Excel experience along with Word/Power Point experience. Able to quickly learn or possess experience with SNAPP, SAP, CTE Concur, iREP, AggSpend 360, DataMart and Rapid Zone.
