BioSpace has been engaged to help our client, an early-stage biotechnology company located in the San Francisco Bay Area, who has developed patented technology for engineering mammalian cells to vastly increase their productivity for therapeutic protein manufacturing. This senior-level molecular biologist position is for someone who will help disrupt biologics manufacturing.
The successful candidate will be an experienced independent molecular biologist, motivated to further develop our technology toward full commercialization. The work will involve cell engineering, vector design and preparation, transfection, cell culture, cloning and screening, flow cytometry, and other related molecular and cellular biology techniques. Collaboration with co-workers and with pharmaceutical company customers is essential for this position.
Present and future management responsibilities will depend on level of experience, and development within the company.
PhD in a related field; multiple years of experience with cell line creation, preferably for one or more pharmaceutical companies; mammalian cell culture expertise; knowledge of the regulatory environment related to creating and testing cells destined for GMP manufacturing; experience with general molecular biology techniques for creating vectors and transfecting cells; experience with protein assay techniques for screening transfectants; experience with protein analytical methods
Experience with flow cytometry, cell banking experience, experience with transposase transfection methods
