Position Overview:

Molecular Templates is seeking a highly-skilled and highly-motivated professional to develop and maintain the master production schedule for a multi-product GMP manufacturing facility. The Master Production Scheduler will work cross-functionally to generate, maintain, and communicate a comprehensive manufacturing schedule for biologic drug manufacturing including fermentation and purification processes. This position will work closely with supply chain, quality, engineering, CMC and project management teams as well as with internal/external stakeholders and senior leadership to ensure corporate goals and strategic objectives are met. This position requires excellent technical skills and abilities, analytical and mathematical skills, organizational and time-management skills, verbal and written communication skills, plus ability to apply attention to detail.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Work cross-functionally to develop and maintain the master production schedule for a multiproduct drug substance GMP manufacturing facility.
  • Communicate production schedule information to cross-functional stakeholders including Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Facilities & Engineering, Quality Control, Process Sciences, CMC, Project Management, and the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Monitor production floor conditions and perform updates to the schedule as needed. Ensure that all decisions and changes to the production schedule are updated and effectively communicated to all relevant parties.
  • Lead routine production planning meetings.
  • Develop schedules that can be executed based on labor, material, and equipment availability to support the Supply Chain S&OP mechanism.
  • Attend Supply Chain led demand planning meetings.
  • Review measurements on delivery and adherence to the master schedules.
  • Recognize material, labor and capacity constraints, review alternatives and make decisions which will result in optimizing available resources and drive 100% schedule adherence.
  • Provide leadership and guidance for establishing and documenting consistent processes for production scheduling and overall execution of the master schedule
  • Assist in capacity analyses and provide recommendations for short, medium and long-term needs.
  • Model scenarios for the production plan, including scheduling simulations to establish target production levels.

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years relevant experience within manufacturing and/or MBA is preferred
  • Experience in production planning or master scheduling in a GMP environment, preferred
  • Knowledge of drug substance manufacturing (fermentation and/or purification processes), preferred
  • High level of proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Excel and Power BI or similar
  • Demonstrated abilities to extract and analyze data using SQL, VBA, or similar
  • Knowledge of MRP and ERP systems
  • Knowledge of safety principles, regulatory guidelines, and quality systems
  • Adaptable to a fast paced, complex, and ever-changing business environment
  • Effective communication and technical writing skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and manage time efficiently
  • Highly motivated and proactive with a track record of taking initiative to achieve business results
  • Ability to identify problems and take action to resolve them
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills

Reporting Structure:

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities. This position reports to Director, Manufacturing.
