Position Summary

This position is responsible for new product planning for pipeline products in the Vaccines Business Unit. Develops commercialization strategies for pre-clinical and early stage clinical candidates. Leads market analyses for strategic acquisition evaluations. Assists with market conditioning for late stage assets as well as thought leadership initiatives as needed.

  • Lead new product planning efforts in Vaccines Business Unit
  • Seek customer insights and develop commercialization plans and strategies for pipeline products
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to design and execute market research, establish Target Product Profiles, and determine early product positioning
  • Lead commercial analyses to identify new indications and market size estimates for future product candidates
  • Lead market assessments, including the generation of product revenue forecasts, marketing expense forecasts, and underlying assumptions for external opportunity evaluations and commercial due diligence (BD/M&A)
  • Partner with BD to synthesize and develop robust business cases and present commercial assessment findings and recommendations to senior management to inform go/no-go decisions
  • Manage competitive intelligence needs of the vaccines BU including management of external vendors as needed
  • Assist with late stage assets and thought leadership projects on an as needed basis including market research, KOL management, market assessments and market conditioning.
  • Work closely and compliantly with Medical Affairs to drive early commercialization efforts for pipeline/late stage assets
  • Fully comply with all Emergent compliance policies

Minimum Education, Experience and Skills
  • BS/BA required; MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 12+ years in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
  • Experience in strategic marketing, new product planning, R&D portfolio strategy, financial forecasting and valuation, market research/analytics, and/or business development/due diligence
  • Broad therapeutic area experience, knowledge of emerging infectious diseases, vaccines, and anti-infectives would be preferred
  • Proven ability to lead multiple projects efficiently and independently
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing, matrixed environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, as well as oral and written communication skills
  • Strategic thinker, self-starter, and results-oriented
  • Excellent business acumen
