Analytik Jena US headquarters is seeking an Applications Scientist who has great passion for working with scientists and engineers for applications support and problem solving. The scientist position is responsible for working with customers and sales team members to resolve research and research applications questions and troubleshooting regarding general research and preclinical qPCR, reagents, and nucleic acid purifications for full range of research in genomics.

Analytik Jena is a provider of instruments and products in life science, with an emphasis on preclinical research and molecular diagnostics.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain in-depth knowledge of products and application capabilities and advises customers, distributors, and sales team to ensure customer satisfaction
• Provides hand on applications and instrumentation support
• Solicit interactive feedback from customers and provide them with strategies so they can perform best in class research
• See challenges as opportunities to be innovative and provide customer generated feedback to company
• Stay current on technology trends and anticipates emerging consumer needs through research
• Attend conferences and trainings to become a stronger business partner
• Train sales team on products and applications

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related sciences and/or equivalent experience and knowledge (master’s or PhD preferred)
• Passionate about customer support, thinks outside the box and pushes the status quo
• Self-motivated, independent, and a proactive
• Exceptional time management skills and ability to prioritize critical tasks
• Demonstrates clear, engaging, and well-organized presentation and written communication skills in English
• Local travel up to 50% with possible international travel
