The Role

We are seeking a Senior Manager to support Gilead's Global Compliance program. This role will be based in Foster City, US and will report to the Global Head of Transparency and Systems. The Senior Manager will be working collaboratively with other members of the Transparency and Systems team within Global Compliance to support the company's efforts to meet the US transparency requirements. In addition, s/he will be part of the core team responsible for the Global Transparency Project.

Essential Duties and Job Functions
  • Assist and support with the tracking of all transfers of value provided to US Healthcare Professionals
  • US Federal Transparency Reports - Assist and support as needed to ensure the successful submission of annual disclosure reports
  • US State Transparency Reports - Assist and support as needed to ensure the successful submission of annual disclosure reports
  • Global Transparency Systems - Understanding data sources globally and assist with streamlining processes to increase data quality and effectiveness. Understanding country specific requirements globally to ensure a successful transition to a global transparency solution
  • Customer Master Data - Understanding the impact of master data for global transparency reporting, working with global customer master stakeholders to ensure accuracy of data
  • Other - Assist on any other tasks as assigned by line management

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

Gilead is looking for an individual who is experienced in the compliance area of the biotech and/or pharmaceutical industry. Ideally the successful candidate will have gained exposure to working within an organization with a US-based headquarters. The candidate must have a strong background and exposure to compliance-related systems and transparency reporting, with knowledge of global requirements preferred.

Detailed requirements include:
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Must have excellent analytical skills and comfort with multiple data sets, with the ability to draw conclusions and make informed recommendations
  • Ability to easily grasp process and data flows between systems
  • Proven track record of contributions and professional growth and development in prior roles, including ability to apply judgment to areas outside of core competency
  • Demonstrate integrity to manage sensitive and confidential information

Education and Experience
  • 5-7+ years of prior relevant experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries
  • Requires a relevant professional degree from an internationally recognized institution
  • Legal background is not required, but an interest and awareness of laws, industry codes and best practices related to global Transparency preferred (e.g., US Federal Open Payments Program, US State laws, EFPIA)
  • Knowledge and exposure to Oracle EBS, SAP, Concur and Veeva preferred
