The Senior Research Associate, Analytical Development - BioAssay, performs routine testing and to develop Bioassays suitable for lot disposition and characterization of gene therapy drug products and substances.

Responsibilities
  • Performs a wide variety of laboratory tasks and experiments.
  • May make detailed observations, analyze data and interpret results.
  • Maintains laboratory equipment and inventory levels for laboratory supplies.
  • May write experimental reports, summaries and protocols.
  • May also be responsible for media and critical solution preparation in the research and development area, including experiments as required and outlined.
  • May also develop and maintain record keeping for experiments performed.
  • Performs limited troubleshooting and calibration of instruments.
  • Under supervision, develop, optimize and qualify Bioassays suitable for gene therapy characterization, lot release and stability monitoring, may participate in assay transfer to QC department
  • Performs routine sample testing and data analysis with existing analytical methods in support of regulatory filings and manufacturing process development and validation
  • Identifies lab needs/improvements and provides suggestions
  • Other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering or related scientific discipline with 4 years research experience in area or 7 years of equivalent education/experience may be accepted.
  • Clear understanding and working knowledge of Cell Biology, protein and DNA chemistry.
  • Clear understanding and working experience with cell-based assays as well as other plate-based assays using variety of platforms including but not limited to ELISA, MSD, high-content imaging and luminescent/fluorescent plate reader.
  • Quick learner, highly motivated, hard-working and detail oriented. Strong ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with highly goal-oriented approaches and to prioritize work from multiple projects with can-do attitude is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
