In this vital role you will leverage leadership and strong project management skills to actively engage with cross-functional groups and technical teams across multiple sites to coordinate activities, manage data, identify improvements & efficiencies, and plan projects across the device platform portfolios based on business priorities. You will be responsible for collecting metrics and crafting dashboards to supervise the progress towards timely delivery of commitments.
This role reports into the Director of Electromechanical Device Platforms in Final Product Technologies, Commercial Advancement. The position is located in Thousand Oaks, CA and requires 10% or less, domestic (and possible international) travel.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree
OR
Master's degree and 3 years of Engineering and/or Operations experience
Or
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of Engineering and/or Operations experience

Or
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Engineering and/or Operations experience

This role reports into the Director of Electromechanical Device Platforms in Final Product Technologies, Commercial Advancement. The position is located in Thousand Oaks, CA and requires 10% or less, domestic (and possible international) travel.
- Work cross-functionally to collect, prioritize, and maintain business needs from partners
- Develop and maintain metrics and dashboards to communicate status
- Follow Amgen's governance processes, procedures, specifications, design controls, and applicable compliance standards and guidance documents
- Negotiate and resolve conflicts and drive decisions among team/functional members to accomplish project and business goals
- Assist in driving decisions by using the Decision Making Framework (D- Decision maker, Advice Giver, I- Informed)
- Ensure participation in functional and cross-functional management reviews
- Establish and manage collaboration tools and team sites (e.g. SharePoint, Microsoft Teams)
- Provide meeting facilitation, including development of meeting agenda and minutes
- Develop, evaluate, and manage business case and cost/benefit analysis
- Develop and use project plans and schedules to measure and report progress
- Communicate proactively with stakeholders and sponsors regarding project progress, issues, and plans for resolution

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, life or physical sciences; degree preferred in engineering
- Strength in engineering program management and ability to navigate across sophisticated matrix organization and influence team members to ensure execution
- 8 years+ of project management experience in the Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology fields is highly desirable
- Strong oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated time management and decision-making skills
- Strong understanding of QMS, all phases of Design & process control, regulatory standards
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Distinguishes accurate balance between strategic and tactical thinking
- Authoritative command of complexity and ambiguity, ability to see the big picture, ability to collect, digest and assemble information to enable relevant business analysis and influence decision-making
- Ability to tactfully and effectively negotiate and influence at various levels of organization
- Portfolio management and reporting skills
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Proficiency in MS office suite including Teams, Excel, Power Point, and Project
