The successful Executive Director, Oncology Franchise Marketing & Access candidate will be a key contributor responsible for the development and execution of cross-brand commercial strategy including marketing, nurse educators, and access. The successful candidate will be a dynamic, experienced individual with a strong track record of oncology commercial success in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry. The ideal candidate has proven ability to provide strategic portfolio management, collaborative cross-functional team leadership, vision, and direction within a fast-moving, dynamic commercial environment. The role will report to the VP, Oncology Business Unit Head in the US Commercial organization.

Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
  • Oversee the development and implementation of cross-brand strategic and tactical marketing plans for our Oncology portfolio
  • Foster an innovative approach to cross-brand marketing, including in personal/non-personal promotions, with an Omni Channel marketing approach
  • Partner with Public Affairs and Government Affairs to ensure an effective, comprehensive approach to Oncology Advocacy
  • Engage with Managed Markets to support oncology franchise market access efforts, including contracting strategy, coordination of customer-facing roles (e.g. Oncology KAMs), and development of tactics directed at healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Establish and lead a team of field-based clinical nurse educators who will provide critical customer support and education for the oncology portfolio
  • Collaborate with Sales and Managed Markets leaders to ensure a coordinated approach across oncology
  • Lead cross-functionally with Managed Mkts., Medical, Legal, Regulatory and Public Affairs
  • Active participation & collaboration as a key member of the cross-functional Oncology Leadership Team (OLT)
  • Cultivate relationships with thought leaders, key customers, and professional organizations
  • Work in close conjunction with marketing operations to establish appropriate procedures, systems, metrics, and infrastructures
  • Support the achievement of franchise revenue targets
  • Represent the franchise marketing position on Promotional Review Committee


Basic Qualifications:

Ph.D. and Fourteen Years' Work Experience

OR

Master's Degree and Fourteen Years' Work Experience

OR

Bachelor's Degree and Sixteen Years' Work Experience

Preferred qualifications include:
  • 12 years of pharmaceutical industry leadership experience including marketing strategy and tactics, market access, and commercial policies and practices
  • MBA or advanced scientific degree desired
  • Proven track record of effective, inspirational field team leadership (Sales, Access, or Other) desired
  • Knowledge and experience in oncology/hematology
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering impactful marketing materials while working compliantly within pharmaceutical regulatory requirements (OPDP)
  • Proven strategic capabilities with the ability to conceive, develop and implement multi-dimensional marketing and business plans
  • Advanced experience in project management and the ability to efficiently manage multiple projects/priorities
  • Effective analytical skills, demonstrated by the ability to identify and interpret complex issues and provide appropriate recommendations to senior management and across functional areas
  • Advanced interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, inspire, focus, resolve conflict and influence without authority, and deliver exceptional results across a diverse matrix organization
  • Exceptional communication skills with experience presenting before senior leadership, the ability to connect with and inspire field teams, and clearly convey technical-scientific content to a range of audiences
  • Proven ability to nimbly navigate complex situations, adapt, and deliver innovative solutions to simultaneously deliver positive outcomes for both the business and patients
  • Track record of successful budget management
  • Sales, Market Research, and/or Learning & Development experience is preferable, though not required
