Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Support the generation and evaluation of RNA vaccines using various molecular- and cell-based assays to aid in design strategies and selection of ideal candidates.
  • Support the implementation, optimization, and development of novel cellular- and molecular-based assays to quantify and/or characterize DNA and RNA constructs
  • Work collaboratively to develop, implement and optimize experimental protocols in the areas of molecular biology to support process improvements
  • Support evaluation of drug substance and drug product using such assays
  • Execute, analyze, report, and document data from experiments in a timely manner
  • Support publication efforts and technical reports as needed
  • Prepare and present data at cross-functional meetings
  • Conduct literature review to improve understanding, to troubleshoot experiments, and to provide novel solutions to help advance projects
  • Pursue cross-training opportunities and learn new technologies as needed to fulfill role
  • Work and communicate effectively with others within and across functions
  • Demonstrate a high level of engagement and contribute to scientific discussion in meetings
  • Train on and follow internal policies and procedures to maintain day-to-day lab operation, quality standards, HSE compliance, IP, performance management, etc.
  • Help build and promote a positive culture and working environment


Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or MS degree in molecular biology or relevant discipline
  • BS with 3 years relevant experience or MS with 2 years experience in a molecular biology setting. Additional prior industry experience preferred
  • Proficiency and hands-on experience with tissue culture is required
  • Technical knowledge and hands-on experience with cell-based assays involving transfection, electroporation, cellular staining and FACS or imager-based systems is required
  • Technical knowledge and hands-on experience with molecular assays for DNA/RNA quantification and characterization is preferred (eg. ddPCR, qPCR, qRT-PCR, Quantigene, etc.)
  • Experience working with RNA is preferred
  • Ability to plan, execute, analyze, critically interpret data, and effectively multi-task are critical
  • Strong organizational skills, effective written and oral communication of scientific data, and good teamwork are essential
