Just is seeking a motivated and hardworking team member who desires a significant opportunity to improve worldwide access to biotherapeutics. This person will join a fast-paced, collaborative, and multidisciplinary team to support bioreactor process development at 1-50L scale for the advancement of low-cost biotherapeutics manufacturing. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and efficient in completing tasks. Experience with equipment cleaning and maintenance, ordering and managing inventory, and organizing workspace and tasks are preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills, and experience with typical software packages (such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite, etc) are desired. The ideal candidate is curious, creative, engaged, works well independently and in teams, and constantly looks for ways to improve processes and technology.

Responsibilities:
  • Prep, run, and clean bioreactors and bioreactor equipment (controllers, pumps, autoclaves, etc)
  • Work with vendors and manufacturers - ordering, troubleshooting, developing prototypes
  • Weekend sampling and maintenance
  • Design, execution, and analysis of statistically designed experiments (DOE)
  • Build and autoclave bioreactor parts and assemblies
  • Help prepare media and buffers
  • Maintain labs - clean, restock, identify/address workspace issues

Preferred qualifications:
  • BS in Engineering, Biochemistry or related field and 0-5 years experience
  • Highly organized
  • Motivated and eager to learn
  • Focused on goals and results
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience with Microsoft Office apps (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Pluses:
  • Experience cleaning and maintaining science equipment
  • Experience preparing cell culture media and buffers
  • Experience recording data and writing reports
  • Experience with bioreactor cell culture and perfusion technology
  • Experience with design of experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis
  • Experience with JMP, R, Tableau, SoftMax Pro, Guava, Visual Basic, and WebEx
  • Experience with high throughput cell culture (e.g. deep-well plate assays or robotics)
  • Experience implementing / programming PLCs (any manufacturer)
  • Experience or familiarity with writing code (Python preferred)
  • General understanding of circuits (grounding, power, signal, etc.)
