The Compliance Associate Director provides direct oversight of AbbVie's compliance program at the enterprise level.

Key Job Responsibilities:

The Compliance Associate Director may perform the following with minimal supervision from Compliance Director:
  • Primarily supports headquarters-based employees in Global Medical Affairs and Health Economics and Outcomes Research to provide guidance on proposed business strategies and programs, identifies moderate to complex legal and regulatory issues, analyzes alternatives and works with legal and other functions, as appropriate to provide solutions to the business
  • Provides moderate to complex OEC and functional policy interpretation and provides guidance on the requirements
  • Partners closely with functional Compliance teams to oversee and enhance monitoring, update policies and procedures, prepare for key meetings with leadership (e.g., Compliance Insights Forums) and continuously improve the overall compliance program
  • Analyze data captured by OEC Operations for trends and takes action, as appropriate
  • Regularly assess exceptions/deviations to determine need for functional policy, procedure, and training updates
  • Initiate proactive training and/or communications regarding current compliance topics/issues, with support from OEC Operations, as needed
  • Provides substantial support to both the business and Corporate Audit during a compliance audit by assisting in the fulfilment of requests and liaising between the business and audit
  • Supports the functions with moderate to complex post-audit remediation and works with the business to ensure timely completion
  • Participates in cross functional OEC programs and collaborates regularly with OEC colleagues to resolve issues and share learnings

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BA/BS required, CPA, Master's, JD, or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with, or exposure to, business functions such as compliance, legal, regulatory affairs, medical affairs and/or commercial
  • Preferred solid working knowledge of AbbVie's business, the current compliance environment, and the broader business impact
