Manager, Provider Contracting

Job Summary

Provider Contracting, a part of USV&A, supports Amgen by supporting the Coverage and Pricing teams in developing and implementing customer contract strategy in order to assist Amgen in its mission to serve patients by enabling access to Amgen products. We are looking for a business professional who is an expert in translating complex discount strategies and structures, and details from language in legal documents and will ensure compliant end to end business processes.

The Manager position operates within a dynamic, business critical, environment and is primarily responsible for project management of key Amgen Provider customer contracts from request to execution, ensuring all legal requirements are met and that the system reflects key terms in the executed final contract. The Manager will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional team members to ensure key controls in the contracting process are met.

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Communicating with other functional components of the department on the operation and implementation of business unit strategies and participating in and supporting meetings to plan, provide feedback and anticipate the needs of the business unit;
  • Participation in developing timelines and deliverables for provider contract projects and be a key contributor for developing system enhancements to Amgen's salesforce platform;
  • Ongoing interaction with several cross-functional groups, including Legal, Government Programs, Coverage and Pricing and Contract Operations.;
  • Project managing planned and ad-hoc special projects within Contracting and U.S. Value & Access;
  • Position also involves managing contract data in our salesforce system and work with Contract Development, Contract Operations and Coverage and Pricing on reporting and developing dashboards

 


Basic Qualifications

 

 

 

  • Doctorate degree


OR

 

 

 

  • Master's degree and 2 years of commercial contracting, sales operations, finance and/or analytics experience


OR

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years of commercial contracting, sales operations, finance and/or analytics experience


OR

 

 

  • Associate's degree and 10 years of commercial contracting, sales operations, finance and/or analytics experience


OR

 

 

  • High school diploma / GED & 12 years of commercial contracting, sales operations, finance and/or analytics experience

 


Preferred Qualifications

 

 

 

  • Legal document drafting experience in a dynamic environment, e.g. consulting firms, biotech, tech companies, etc.
  • Very strong computer & M/S Office skills; exceptional Word skills; strong administrative skills
  • Strong technical skills to leverage new technology
  • Completes projects and makes decisions with minimal direction and strong ability to develop prioritization and completion timeframes for multiple assignments
  • High attention to detail/reporting accuracy
  • Project a positive, 'can do' attitude and eagerly contribute to all initiatives as needed and requested
  • Ability to prioritize competing interests and projects and manage a high volume of contract document requests
  • Team player, looks for ways to support team members
  • Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers
  • Ability to be nimble, take initiative, problem-solve, work independently and exercise appropriate business judgment. Interaction and strong communication skills with cross-functional teams is critical.
