Job Description

Job Summary:

This position is responsible to conduct variety of biophysical/chemical methods for protein/mRNA characterization to support assay development, and QC studies on potential vaccine candidates. The ideal candidate would help maintain the analytical lab instruments to support characterization studies.

Major Responsibilities:

Conduct biophysical/chemical methods for protein characterization
  • Conduct biophysical assays to characterize protein-protein interactions to evaluate potential vaccine candidates
  • Perform and optimize MS-based methods for biomolecules quantification to support stability studies
  • Perform quality control studies for proteins by variety of analytical methods to discover potential bioassays for product development
  • Document and optimize protocols for protein-based assays and analytical instruments to help maintain the analytical lab

Documentation and presentation of scientific results.
  • Write experimental protocols and prepare internal reports. Maintain lab notebooks.
  • Collaborate with project teams, present research results and contribute to technical advancements and publications.

Lab management.
  • Maintain functional laboratory equipment and follow HSE regulation.

Other job duties that may be assigned from time to time.
  • Support other functions and other divisions when needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • B.S. or Master's degree in Biochemistry/bio/chemical engineering or related biological sciences.
  • B.S. with 3+ years, or M.S. with 0-1+ years of academic or pharmaceutical/biotech experience in biochemistry, preferably laboratory experience with training in a relevant technical discipline eg. molecular and cellular biology, analytical biochemistry etc.
  • Hands on experience with proteins/mRNA and biological samples is required
  • Experience with analytical techniques such as LCMS, WB, HPLC, DSC, SPR, DLS, SEC-MALS, and fluorometry is preferred.
  • The ability to generate accurate and reproducible results along with multi-tasking are critical.
  • Desire to work under a collaborative and fast pace environment is preferred.
  • Organizational, written and oral communication skills and ability to work in teams is required.
